Elon said it himself, for Twitter to have the public’s trust it needed to remain politically neutral. He then decided the public’s trust wasn’t of much value and drove it off the deep end. Seems like people have had enough.

He traded Twitter for a place in the Oval Office and his other businesses are benefiting from that, so on a personal level maybe it was the right move for him.

I have had a bluesky account for over a year, never used it. Today was the day I switched back over and tried it again… its GREAT so far! Feels so weird and positive and fun. Please please keep this vibe. Disabled my twitter account right after.

As far as my academic credentials, I did once apply for a job in academia, and i did NOT get it. Sooo, pretty serious.

    3. Yeah? If you’re so academic, what the fuck took you so long to figure it out? Shoulda done this shit months ago like any sane person.

X is what you get when instead of trying to build a Truth Social, you convert a platform with 500M users first. Its served its purpose for propaganda, anyone who didn’t leave when he first took over is leaving too late.

    5. I have seen more and more blatantly racist content and replies on popular posts injected into my For You feed, it’s genuinely concerning how much this has been normalized in the last year on that platform.

The fact that they didn’t leave when Musk took over just shows how dumb some academics really are in real life situations

    7. Meanwhile companies like Disney are quietly reverting their boycotts and going back on Twitter. Country is going deeply red and corporations are more than happy to jump on the bandwagon.

The entire world is getting more and more nationalist, Gen Z is the worst trend we have seen so far. Fucking hate the situation but I can’t blame shithead CEOs for reading the room.

“Flee”? They logged off. They didn’t flee. Nobody is chasing them. X sucks. Twitter sucked. Bluesky will suck. The real headline should be, “Bozos stunned by downfall of American democracy seem to think logging onto different social media platform is what really matters.”

A University president with an english degree, a poly sci prof and a journalism prof.

These are among the faculties with the highest number of left leaning and Democrat-registered professors in academia.

He also just banned a lot of us. I got canned when I brought up the January 6th report – it is over the fascists have won the media unfortunately

Twitters one remaining advantage is that ‘everyone is there’ — its user base is still a bit larger than bluesky, despite the former increasingly becoming an unusable cesspool. Past a certain point though and I suspect a mass exodus will happen towards more welcoming pastures.

    12. Eggheads are just a tiny fraction of all the people abandoning that garbage website.
