    For context…

While a lot of people would like Australia to be a republic, the fact at the moment is that, as a member of Parliament, he IS her King. The other fact is that she’s a member of the Senate, which she obtained on the Green Party ticket. They parted ways soon after she took her seat in parliament (for a host of other reasons), but rather than allow the Greens to fill that seat with another member of their party, she gets to keep the Senate seat as an independent. Nobody voted for her as an individual to sit in the Senate.

Just like people screaming ”Trump is not my president”. It doesn’t matter what you think or say, he is your king/president.

Good. Yelling at an old man achieves absolutely nothing. Last time there was a vote people wanted to keep the monarchy, and apparently the majority still do. King Charles has already said it’s up to the Australian people, not him, if they want to ditch him.

For the non-Aussies, this Senator is basically our MTG, she just makes intentionally inflammatory statements to keep herself in the news. She was also dating a gang member whilst on an anti-gang parliamentary committee.

She should go back to yelling at bouncers at strip clubs, much more suited to it

To be fair, when “King of Australia” was the headline when Charles became king, I had to do a double take and it took me a good few secs to realize what the news was on about. I feel like the monarchy is so irrelevant to most Australians we barely ever think about it except during the weddings. Let’s be honest here, none of us really care that much.

For the non-aussies, this is someone who tried to not take their oath which allows them to serve in government.

They then tried to alter it which voided their duties and the oath taken by all to serve our country and it’s head of state.

They have also claimed to be treasonous and to be there to tear the system down from the inside, an offense in itself.

They were told to settle the fuck down, not be a dickhead and take it properly which they then did take the oath.

After this they got called in for a please explain, and claimed that they lied in their oath and used words that sounded like the words to get it passed, which is fraud and again treason.

This is also someone who has more scottish ancestory than they do indiginous, uses their victim card to escape charges and do things that would get normal people arrested and charged and has now started using their political card to escape consequences of their actions that would see regular people done.

This particular person also loves to claim to speak for all indiginous people (they don’t) and they love to claim that some indiginous people ain’t indiginous, which is hilarious because by her metrics, she can’t say shit about anyone else.

A typical narcissistic politician who use left and liberals for attention

I’m very sympathetic to Aussie indigenous issues, but this particular person will simply do anything for media attention. She’s like the upside down world MTG.

Has she gotten to the “Come and see the violence inherent in the system – help, help, I’m being repressed” part yet?

Kinda rude to shout at somebody who just traveled around the world to meet you.

She later claimed in the senate that when she swore the oath of office to become a senator, instead of pledging allegiance to “the queen and her **heirs**” that she actually said “queen and her **hairs**”, therefore did not pledge allegiance to King Charles. This is not a joke. This is actually what she argued.

Sure enough they played back the [video of her oath of office](https://youtu.be/t69KrZEO3NA) and she did indeed say “queen and her hairs”. Legal experts then pointed out that she also signed the senate register.

    Honestly it was pretty funny.

  13. I’m not a fan of her at all. She’s corrupt and should have had the decency to resign when she quit the Greens.

But this censure done the same time as they’ve censured another senator for calling someone the n word and the f word on Twitter is obscene. They’re not compatible.

Protest isn’t meant to be nice.

Friendly reminder that the choice to become a Republic is entirely Australia’s choice. Charles himself has stated that he will not stand in the way if they decide to do so.

  15. A. She’s clearly mixed as I’ve not seen an indigenous Austrlian with a skin that light and facial features that european.

    B. It seems like he is sis.

    Me an American,

“Yes good, let the hate flow through you Aussies, it gives you strength, it gives you power, throw off your King, come to the Darkside we have Brrrt planes and Donut cheeseburgers.”

  17. Iwantyourskull138 on

She wasn’t wrong, though.  There is only one true King…

    and that’s King Diamond.

    The rest are all pretenders.

For those in the United States, this is the same Senator that John Oliver showed a clip on Last Week Tonight of her sarcastically being sworn into office during the episode about the British monarchy after Queen Elizabeth’s death
