I can’t post an image, but this link goes to a soviet propaganda poster of a priest with a machine gun that reads “come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” [https://www.instagram.com/p/C4LNCalo22H/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4LNCalo22H/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)

He’s just doing God’s work. A perfect balance of harmony and chaos.

This picture by Patrick Chauvel was taken in Bisri. The reporter who took the picture later said the priest had seen his church get burned by muslims days before, that’s why he did it but had regrets afterward because maronites weren’t supposed to fight. He came to him later in the day asking him not to publish the picture because priests were usually spared during massacres, and if the ennemy knew he fired, they wouldn’t be spared anymore. This picture was most likely a joke that was taken out of context since the priest and the soldier were laughing.
