      Sometimes I wonder how people could live with slavery in this country – this great, monstrous evil perpetrated in huge parts of the US for a century even after the rest of the west had acknowledged its evilness and abolished it. 

      The total dehumanization of Arabs and gross indifference by westerners to the atrocities perpetrated by Israel (not to mention the enthusiastic support by evangelicals and zionists) shows exactly how that kind of evil can be sustained.
