In our commune there’s an old guy from India with an impressive white beard. He sometimes meditates close to the Alzette, topless, wearing a turban. We just call him The Yogi

    …and of course [this guy](https://youtu.be/UAcQtyZUSuY)

In Manternach in my day it was the guy who held the preschool hostage in Wasserbillig… He’d always be running around the village and practice taekwondo and kick the trees… I also remember “Mark” (Betzdorf area?) but he is (was?) a nice dude.

  3. I remember bucket man.

Dude used to walk around in camo trousers and a white bucket.

Haven’t seen him in a while though.

There is a dude with neon pink hair and beard. I see him to and from work sometimes. I wonder what brought him to that life decision.

The guy in the city centre wearing a long black leather jacket and always smoking huge cigars!

The guy who carries a trolly with all his belongings and always screams or speaks to himself in the centre

  7. Fun fact: if you don’t think there is such a person, then that person is you.

  8. In the early 2000s there was this older guy who seemed to always turn up at every town fest.

I.e. the “Oldies Baal in Lamadelaine” or some other town fest in Rodange or Petange.

He was almost completely bald, had like a dad bod with beer belly and wore nice dark suits.

He would be totally drunk and party mingle with us young ones.

He didn’t talk as much as he was pretty much only yelling “Yeaaaaaaah” and “Otto by night!”.

That’s why we called him Otto.

Someone once told me that this guy was actually a really wealthy business man. But who knows if that was true.

There is this one guy showing up at almost every important Luxembourgish festive event. I think they call him „Großherzog“ or so…
He is harmless and overall even very friendly, but something is strange about him. It is told that he lives in Colmar-Berg but frequently coming to the city to work in a state owned protected institution somewhere in the city center.
And apparently, his son comes after him…

The black guy at the bus center station with his cardboard box and talk to himself

  11. First, here in Luxembourg, you must define if you talk about the city or the country.

There was the engineer of the Pont ~~Marie-Astrid~~ GD Charlotte, apparently, who was a homeless guy do to depression and he always helped the students make their maths. He was always sitting next to the old Que pass take-out.

In town, there is also the bold homeless guy with the plastic bags. Years ago there was a woman with even more plastic bags and a much more intense odour !

Then there is Marco in Esch as mentioned. He is still turning around today. Must be in his 50s now.

Also in Esch, we had Fredy Koch, an Ex-body builder champion who definitely took to much illegal substances in his youth, he died some years ago. He was like a funny clown making jokes with his muscles.

In my village, there was Toni, a guy without education, son of drug addicted parents who got a house and a job from the commune . He passed his life brushing the streets here. But he was very nice and lovely with us kids.

Edit. I forgot the bearded military guy who screams to everybody in town, didn’t see him for a while now that I think of it.

I‘d say it‘s Django. A guy dressed as cowboy, with a horn to drink beer from, a pistol, riding his horse or driving in an american car 😅
He‘s been living around Mersch and in Larochette. Many know him

  13. HumongousFrogCool on

That midget woman in the Gare du centre that’s always asking for money

  14. Priamosish on

That one homeless guy who likes wearing a hat and has a big red beard (now a lot of grey streaks).

Once gave him a free hot chocolate and a Schokelasrull on a freezing winter day, he took a sip, stopped, and said with the most serene, calmest voice “I much prefer coffee”. Bless this man.
