The school board has a #33M surplus?! More than just this trip is suspicious!

4 people spent 45k in expenses alone. People who are in positions to ensure prudent spending.

    I  booked a 3 week Euro tour a year ago and I think I spent 7k and 3k of it wasn’t needed

More than repayment should be done. All expenses they submitted since they started should be audited

  3. As someone who has lived in Ontario….not surprising.

Always have questioned how they could spend so much money, and yet schools lacked things like AC, modern gym equipment, un-even distribution of specialized teachers in HS, and now things like the bus driver shortage.

Always have had strong reasons to speculate unchecked spending.

Ontario school trustees “deeply regret” they got caught.

I would love to see the art they bought.
    Must be a train wreak

I deeply regret going on that sweet trip using public funds.

If these schools have a surplus, why are they being publicly funded.

“A group of trustees at an Ontario Catholic school board are apologizing for going to Italy this summer to buy $100,000 worth of artwork for a new school.”

What in the fuck!? Nothing of this makes sense. Catholic schools should be funding themselves if this is how they are going to spend taxpayers money.

Headline should read “ontario school trustees are untouchable”

  10. My kids school has artwork made by the kids. Pretty cheap and efficient imo.

not sure if this is really so horrible, seems like an okay use of the money if the artworks are indeed what they claim to be.

We need to start by examining some of the bigger projects, each one of the LRTs delayed likely has siphoned funds in the factor of 1000+. We have to acknowledge the rampant corruption in this country before we can address it.
