Bhutan is also one of the few countries that doesn’t recognise either colloquial China (PROC) or Taiwan (ROC)

These are countries that Bhutan has diplomatic relations with. Recognizing a country is different than having diplomatic relations. Laos doesn’t have diplomatic relations with Bolivia, but it doesn’t mean that Laos doesn’t recognize Bolivia.

  5. I like how Bhutan only recognises 3 african countries and one of them is Eswatini

The distribution of recognised countries seems pretty random to me (they’ll probably have good reasons). But the way the countries are distributed over the whole world map is at least aesthetical pleasing.

Someone should take notes… that’s definitely an upgraded version of Europe.

This goddamn map again by people who do not know the difference between “having diplomatic relations with” and “recognizing”.

    Read a book for once.

Not having diplomatic relations does not imply a lack of recognition

  10. I take great offense over them recognising our biggest neighboring rival and yet not us /hj

A Bhutanese pub quiz must be wild.

Imagine the picture round – you could show them monuments like the Sistine Chapel, the Eiffel Tower , or the Statue of Liberty; and they’d be like…

    … *nah, don’t recognise it.*

So, for education purposes, especially in the field of Geography. Do they teach about the “non-existent” countries in their syllabus?

I am studying for competitive examinations in India. I have to study all the world’s history, ancient history, you name it. In geography, I study geomorphology, oceanography, all the important branches of Physical geography of the world and especially Indian geography including important other branches of geography.

If they don’t, they have a lot less syallabus to cover.

Holy cow its Serbia, how the hell do we have any relations with Bhutan, must of been remnants of non-aligned crap

  15. Costa Rica baby yeah! Surprised to see us there considering how little else of Latin America is represented

So where is Greenland, if they recognize Denmark then they also recognize Greenland.

  17. has New Zealand been left out of the map or isn’t reconcnized? Very hard to tell….
