Oh no!
Anyway, time to put a star in our reasonably priced car!
That’s great for housing.
These news articles just bug me. That’s less than .3% of the total number of international students in this country.
It’s insignificant.
Still need more.
“Atlantic Canadian universities lost a total of 2,983 students, or 11.4 per cent, compared with the 2023-24 academic year.”
So racist
Hopefully this helps cost of living for citizens
Damn don’t care
While this is a good start it’s not near enough to make a real difference….
That’s 13 apartments freed up
“Universities in the region received a total of 2,983 fewer foreign students, or 11.4 per cent, compared with the 2023-24 academic year”
The overall drop is supposed to be ~35%.
Does anyone remember this in August:
“The drop just within universities will be well beyond that,” said Gabriel Miller, president of Universities Canada.” [Source.](https://toronto.citynews.ca/2024/08/30/international-student-enrolment-drops-below-federal-cap/)
A few weeks ago, the president of Universities Canada whined that the cut would be more than 35% for universities. Evidence suggests it’s far less. Why does the press use the word of self interested liars?
gonna be a protest soon by these “students” and i’d bet money on that.
Amazing!!!
I am happy Atlantic provinces could experience firsthand the outcome of their electoral preferences
How’s “Timmies” doing?
Not nearly enough. Should be zero. Canadian students can’t even get jobs when they graduate. Why should there be international students at all, especially when they don’t leave when they’re supposed to.
If these students coming in from other countries were actually made to pay out of pocket for their stay to study without being able to take needed jobs away from our own students and unemployed, that number would probably triple. What’s happening is not enough. More needs to be done to check these poor immigration practices.
Let’s keep lowering that number for this to make a difference for those Canadians on the east coast.
Good riddance
It’s a good start.
Good riddance. Clean up Montreal next.
