From the CBC video description: “NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s failure to obtain a security clearance sends ‘a message to the Indian government that there’s one leader who is willing to look away.’ The RCMP alleged Monday that agents of the Indian government have played a role in widespread violence in Canada.”

Exactly… He harps on so much information being hidden but refuses to get security clearance… I wonder why? Does he worry what they will uncover when they do a background check? Or is he just doing it… Playing politics. It’s bad either way and it just sucks that people are going to overlook a lot of what the conservatives are currently doing and what they plan to do. You just have to look at Ontario… To see what conservatives will bring to the rest of Canada

Should be a basic prerequisite. I’m not allowed to do my job without clearances and I don’t encounter anything as sensitive as he would.
At this point the most charitable explanation for it is plausible deniability and the right to continue running your mouth without disclosing secrets.

He has the King’s Privy Council clearance, still.
Both the former NDP leader Tom Mulcair, and Liberal political pundit Chantal Hebert have agreed and defended with Poilievre’s decision. This is all just theatrics to demonize the opposition leader.

It seems to me his plan is to wait until he’s elected PM be forced to get clearance and then either still refuse to get clearance or have the process turn up issues and he will spin it as the liberal deep state etc. trying to keep an elected PM from power and create a crisis that undermines the legal system, the RCMP, and the health of our democracy.
