      “This was like performance art,” Reaser says in the exclusive clip above. “She was showing up to work with a shaved head and a, you know, a greenish hue. She looked like she lived in a microwave. She was eating these Saltines and drinking ginger ale and going to the bathroom to take puke breaks from her chemo.”

      I had a coworker whose husband faked cancer to avoid dealing with getting fired. They ended up in some daytime talk show…..

      I remember watching a true crime YouTuber cover this and it was a crazy watch

      It’s more common than you think. I worked with someone who faked cancer and would CC the entire team regarding her absences for doctor appointments. She even threw a “death party” instead of a birthday party. To be fair, she also lied about, and created an elaborate instagram profile around, dating a famous actor lol

      I had a cousin who faked cancer like 25 or 30 years ago. She was really on the cusp of something. She was just a really pathetic person, she didn’t want to work, and she liked people driving her around to “appointments” and taking her out to lunch and treating her sweet. When the whole house of cards came falling down, she lost her relationships with her children and her husband, as well as all the in-laws and her own immediate family. It was really so wild, she did similar things in terms of shaving her head, and looking real thin and then gaining weight.

      Ugh, I worked with a guy like this in the early 90s. I didn’t buy into it and didn’t donate to time or money. I caught a lot of flack about it too. But my gut told me he was full of shit. He managed to keep the facade up for about 18 mons.

      I just read the whole vanity fair article and I’m wondering how the producers and writers at Grey’s could have been so dense? I mean, I’m sorry to victim blame, but she had Facebook posts of herself out with friends on the day after the Tree Of Life shooting. She still had eyelashes and brows during “chemo.” Writers of a medical TV show didn’t question that?

      I’m just thinking of my best friend, who is a normal average person, but she always asks probing follow-up questions and investigates everything. She would have sniffed this woman out in days.
