Kinder erkranken nach COVID-19 häufiger an Diabetes. Einen Monat, drei und sechs Monate nach ihrer Infektion sagen die Forscher, dass bei Kindern, die COVID-19 hatten, im Vergleich zur anderen Gruppe ein durchweg höheres Risiko bestand, Typ-2-Diabetes zu diagnostizieren.

  1. I mean isn’t severe COVID-19 infection correlated with obesity, so the kids that show symptoms and are tested are already obese and predisposed to type-2?

    If it was type-1 I’d me more inclined to believe the virus, or immune reaction to it, was the cause.

    Unless we somehow prove that everything we know about type 2 DM pathology is suddenly a lie, this study has to be in reference to type 1 DM. Well established at this point that infections in general often light the fuse of an already genetically coded brick of C4 so to speak. This is the population it happens to. Wouldn’t surprise me if COVID did this!
