I hope people realize that these restrictions apply mostly on private land. So this is the freedom loving, land owner rights supporting, market oriented government stepping and saying – oh, but not with wind farms. You farmers, you can’t figure out how much agricultural productivity to trade off, so we’re going to do it for you. Can you imagine a liberal or NDP government stepping in and doing this? There would be tractor protests on every highway.

The irrigable land thing is really puzzling because wouldn’t it benefit everyone to reduce demand on the available water supply? didn’t we just have a big draught?
