No representation of Wales, and even the new Welsh coat of arms has a Tudor crown on it.

Should be a lion in a canoe chasing a dinghy filled with foreign criminals.

I did know the unicorn represented Scotland.
Hope they don’t vote for independence because it’s rather fitting the union.

How sweet. They’ve even managed to fit a rubber boat into the crest. Very “inclusive”.

It looks the same so I’m fine with it lol, we should stick the Welsh dragon on it though.

Ah the Lion and the Unicorn. Proud native animals to the UK.

That was 2 years ago though?

Missed opportunity to make it something super cringe for no reason and upset lots of people.

Disappointingly they’ve made the ‘quim’ below the crown far less obvious.
It always amused me that our passports proudly display the word ‘quim’ which is an archaic word meaning cunt.

Which is prettier, the Tudor Crown or the St Edward Crown? Personally, I like the esthetic of the St Edward’s.

When I look at the side-by-side comparison, the old one is definitely better.
The proportions of the new one are worse, with the crown in particular looking oversized and silly. The balance is worse too, with the animals given less prominence so as to make the shield and crown bigger for no good reason.
The decision to have the shield emerging from the round part at the top, obscuring the King’s motto, is baffling. They’ve also added extremely small details to the lion’s crown which are very hard to see, and will look terrible in any real application.

Thank fuck they didn’t let any modern “graphics designer” at this, they’d have made a minimal logo with just a couple of letters.
I really don’t like the new versions dropping of the white background on the border. Now the text within it is unreadable. Who thought that up? Perhaps they did get a modern graphics designer to do some of it…

Why do both the lion and unicorn look so thin? Better head to a food bank.

Notice they’ve kept the French on there for the motto. Really ought to put it in English some day.

Take. The. Chains. Off. The. Damn. Unicorn.
I really don’t like the symbolism of that.

Looks old. And by old I mean the lions face looks like it’s imitating a carry on film. Was hoping it might look a bit more modern

What problem does this new coat of arms solve, exactly?

Well thank god for that, this has been keeping me up at night.
Seriously though…would be nice to see some Welsh representation on there. And remove the unicorn’s chains too!

I wonder how much it is going to cost the government to change everything with the old crest. I’m thinking about building plaques, official seals and stamps etc.

Should have a donkey and a fat bloke with Union Jack shorts.
Good to see the unicorn representing Scotland is still chained to the ground with its crown round its neck. Classic British
Looks like the old one but the lion and unicorn are emaciated and tired
I was expecting something more like this:
