I support his decision. He should do what’s best for him. I hope he has a good life and career ahead, and this mess caused by demented fans doesn’t hold him back from happiness.

The company shouldn’t have excluded him from the start. It just emboldened the worst type of fans and prevented him from gaining new fans that would have liked him and defended him on the k side. I refuse to believe that all k fans are a monolith. There must be fans who think this whole situation is bullshit.

To people who think this is only an Asian thing, please check out Timothee Chalamet fans.

wishing him well, i hope he has a good support system and SM plays for his therapy bills for the rest of his fucking life. the way they handled this is absolutely disgusting and i’m just a casual listener of riize. i can’t imagine how the fans who were rooting for him are feeling after this whiplash.

Just wow, training for 2 and a half years, debuting and then having your career end after only being an idol for two months is absolutely awful.

I feel so bad for him

I hope he gets a chance at a fresh start without the drama and “controversy”

I hope this horrible experience doesn’t stop him from fulfilling his dreams.

  6. Korean “fans” are disgusting. They sent funeral wreaths to the SM building in opposition when they first announced Seunghan’s return to the group a few days ago.

I blame SM for their utter incompetence. Seunghan should have never been put on hiatus in the first place.

I don’t think I can continue supporting Riize because I get annoyed just thinking about what Seunghan has gone through, but I wish Riize well and I wish Seunghan all the best in all his future endeavors.

  7. This feels like a nightmare, so much has happened, I thought 2024 would be kind to us and the announcement of him returning was such a delight for many!

Sending to all the sad souls a long comforting virtual hug 🫂

So sweet of him to say he’ll always support Riize, I really wish the best for him

It’s crazy that guys like Seunghan and Taeil are in the same boat but for polar opposite things. One guy is cancelled for having a GF. The other had sex with girls against their will.

i’m forever heartbroken 💔 this can’t be real, this wouldn’t hurt as much if he initially left the group. We almost got him back 💔

  11. I just wish the best for him. I can’t imagine what it feels seeing 1000 death wreaths with your name on it…

I don’t blame him for what happened or his decision to leave. But seriously fuck SM for not protecting him and the shitty “fans” who sent him threats.

I hope Seunghan is surrounded by people who love and support him and that he is able to find happiness.

This whole situation overall is just sad and disappointing. I feel for Seunghan and also for Riize. To know he trained and finally debuted only for this to happen just pisses me off. Hopefully this is not the last we hear of him. He’s a talented person.

i’m speechless, i don’t know what to say, this is actually a nightmare

I lowkey wish SM just gave him a solo debut like starship did with wonho. And maybe he couldve had features on riize songs or something.

an overall fucked up situation that should have been handled better by SM. If only SM could protect and stand by their artists for once, how could they even allow those death wreaths to be in front of their building??!

he really deserved better but if this is his decision then I support it, and it’s probably way better for his mental health and well being to just step away from all this shit. It’s just such a shame and disappointment to see his talent go from the group (I’m just a casual fan but he really did bring a sense of charm and charisma to the group with his talents and visuals), and him spending all those years as a trainee to not be able to fulfill his dreams with his friends over something he did pre-debut as a teenager is fkn heartbreaking..just really reminds me how brutal the industry is and my heart goes out to him. Wishing him so much strength and support and hope he is able to heal from this and fulfill his dreams, whatever they may be in his future path. Riize will always be 7 to me.

  17. I hope the best for him, I still think this was SM’s fault by how they managed everything, but yeah, I could see why after all the backlash he decided to leave for his mental health.

Still, this is so crazy like… for having a girlfriend? Seriously?

I feel like this situation is turning me xenophobic, actually. I’m trying so hard not to fall into the “Korean fans bad” generalization, but everything that has happened has made it hard for me.

I can see from both sides. SM kind of f-ed this up. They waited too long to get SH to come back if that’s the ultimate goal. RIIZE has done well as 6 member group. Some fans have spent lots of money and time and built memories with the group of 6 for many months. I don’t know the sub-fandoms breakdown. Each side is claiming the other side is the minority. At the end of the day, most of the time, the Korean fanbase is the most important fanbase unless it’s some groups that are so popular that they are completely not reliant on SK fanbase.

  20. It’s not just him that I feel bad for. It’s all idols. Many will not care but this is yet another precedent. The same can happen to any idol. The second they show a glimpse of having a life outside of the disturbed parasocial relationship companies create between them and their fans, they are out for good. It’s terrifying for both idols and fans. At the end of the day the ones calling the shots are these crazy “fans” and all they have to do is send anonymous death threats and funeral wreaths to strangers. There are no consequences for them. This is what Kpop has turned into.

SM really sacrificed this guy at the altar of crazy entitled stans. I truly feel bad for him.

I hope he has a good support system and can find another way of following his dream.

  22. I feel so bad for this kid. He did nothing wrong. At this point someone has to put their foot down, show the company that they can’t bend backwards for the loud korean minority like spineless bastards. If the members can’t do anything because of their contracts etc., I hope all of their fandom boycotts the next comeback.
