I is speak gud Inglish.
New Zealand moved to the Indian ocean it seems
New Zealand be like: Can I be closer to my Anglosphere brothers, please?
I’m surprised Mexico is low, considering USA is their neighbour
Botswana should be colored as native or at least “very high.”
In Brazil it is because the internal market is so big, with more than 220m people, that the vast majority doesn’t care to learn english, because they don’t feel the need to.
Even with internet, where people are more exposed to english content, people still doesn’t care to learn, because most of english content is translated somehow to portuguese, due to the big demand.
Surprised the US isn’t orange
Can you do a one “Countries where textbooks are in English”
Hm I feel like certain ex British colonies should have a higher ranking
Do that many people speak English in Portugal?
Wir sind besser als Frankreich, mehr muss ich nicht wissen.
Latvia and Germany very high? I lived 4 years in both countries and NO
Liberia is an English speaking nation. How would you not have data on that?
Germany being the same colour as Sweden is crazy
Greece = Very High
Lmao, I nearly choked
France. Moderate.

The fact that both Finland and Hungary are the same color makes me think this is absolute garbage.
Québec would like to have a work about its native category.
Looking at the European detail, I’m incredibly dubious about these numbers. For example, you’ll not easily convince me Latvia and lots of Balkans are ahead of Finland. There must be some weird selection bias going on.
For example I’m not sure why Finns, who’ve learned English from an early age starting sometime in the 1950s, would ever take the “EF English Proficiency test”. Speaking as a Finn, I’ve never heard of such a test, let alone been asked to do it.
Botswana,Zimbabwe and Namibia should be green
Germany is in the same category as Norway and Sweden. And Finland should be worse?
I don’t think that can be accurate…
France higher than Egypt?
Germany!? I was just in Germany, even the people who work at international hotels can’t manage to communicate in English. Its really one of the worst countries for English proficiency.
This is ridiculous. The French suck at English. I’d correct my English and had perfect English grades. Their English is so bad. Secondly, Somaliland (which is considered the northern part of Somalia) are far better at English than France will ever be. I’ve lived and studied in both. 6 years in Somaliland and 9 years in France.
This doesn’t seem accurate at all
No. Germany is nowhere near the level of The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, or Denmark. Why? We dub movies…
Also, Portugal isn’t, either…
Germany? No 🤣
Bosnia and Greece higher than Philippines is nonsense.
I have travelled extensively through Europe. Greece being the same as The Netherlands is ludicrous. Hell Germany being the same as NL is ludicrous, the Dutch are incredibly proficient with English. The Swedes and Danes are quite good as well, both better than the Germans, but the Dutch are in a a league of their own.
Also the Swiss on the same level as the Poles??? Maybe the French regions are dragging them down but that seems VERY surprising to me
