Ich reise zum ersten Mal durch Deutschland und würde gerne wissen, was ich in dieser Gegend sehen kann!

  1. Königssee is worth it, when the weather is nice and you have time for a boat tour.

If you are interested in history you can visit Obersalzberg. [Besuch – Dokumentation Obersalzberg](https://obersalzberg.de/besuch/)

If you don’t care for either, there is the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine [Berchtesgaden Salt Mine – Adventure, mysticism, fascination – The adventure mine (salzbergwerk.de)](https://www.salzbergwerk.de/en) or closer to the line the Alte Saline Salt Museum in Bad Reichenhall: [Old salt works Bad Reichenhall – fascination, technology, history (alte-saline.de)](https://www.alte-saline.de/en)

Not exactly on the line but there is the second oldest National Park of Germany Berchtesgaden. It’s mountain park though so in this season it all depends on the weather. Königssee is extremely touristic and you need the boat to get away from the crowds. Unfortunately the boat season ends tomorrow and only starts again in late April.

So after a look at the lake I can recommend to go either to Wimbachgriess, a mid sized hike up into a stunning valley, or drive through the charming village of Ramsau to Hintersee and take a walk in Zauberwald, the enchanted forest. From there one can hike up to mountain meadows depending on the weather.

Bad Reichenhall is a small town with a bit of history in making salt from brine. Salzburg just across the border in Austria is full of history and culture as well.
