More than one-third of voters who backed Governor Haley’s primary campaign against President Trump this year will go to the polls and vote for Vice President Harris, new polling suggests. Such a high percentage could be deadly for Trump’s campaign in critical swing states.

The new survey from Blueprint Polling, released on Wednesday, shows that 36 percent of Mrs. Haley’s supporters will vote for Ms. Harris in November. Just 45 percent say they will back Trump, while 23 percent are undecided and 6 percent will vote for a third party candidate.

    2. This is better than getting nothing at all. This election will come down to the wire folks. Every vote in the swing states will matter.

If this is accurate, it’s huge. Haley actually did win a couple primaries and Trump’s victory margins weren’t as high as predicted.

    4. Gotta pump the brakes on this a bit. I voted for Haley in the primary, but I was a never Trumpers/ anti maga independent centrist and woulda voted for any human not named trump.

Point is, I’m not necessarily sure this is picking up additional people that aren’t already baked into the polling.

I pray to God I’m wrong, and that there will be a wave of Haley supporters/moderate Republicans that will either vote for Harris, or at the very least, not vote for trump

Considering many were likely Dems or registered Republicans who basically became Democrats in 2016, sounds about right.

There is an active Haley Voters 4 Harris group that is spending money on ads in swing states, has gained endorsements for Harris from former Haley campaign heads, and is actively recruiting former Republicans to Harris. Join the conversation [https://www.haleyvotersforharris.org](https://www.haleyvotersforharris.org) In a close race that 1/3 could make the difference. Incidentally Haley is NOT happy but she made her bed when she backed him. She lost my respect because I know she knows he should not be president but wants to stay in the Trump party too badly.

The pollster who did the study suggested that if Harris gets above 40-45% that will represent a 1-2 point shift in swing states.

    8. Considering she was the ‘not Trump’ primary vote that’s not surprising

    9. whatlineisitanyway on

How many of them voted for Trump four years ago? That is the number that really matters if even a quarter of that third voted for Trump four years ago he is probably going to get blown out on election day.

I don’t like Haley.. and undecided voters are a myth. Anyone still weighing their options belongs in an institution

    11. I wonder how this + number compares to the – number of Stein voters?

    12. bickering_fool on

Thats more than a third that are prepared to publicly admit to doing so….bet it’s more on the day.

    13. It’s probably why we’re not hearing much from her now. She’s going to run again in 4 years so keeping a lower profile during this particular election is likely the advice she’s taken.

This race won’t be close. Trump has hemoraged traditional GOP support TO Harris, and hasn’t gained ground elsewhere.

Why keep pushing this narrative that Haley voters aren’t mostly for Trump lol. Clearly most of them don’t want Harris.

Even if it’s just a small contingent of moderate conservatives, this is still a big deal. These people are often ostracized as RINOs for not backing Trump in the primaries and mostly talk politics with other moderates. If anyone is capable of really pushing needle in Kamala’s favor, it’s these people.

    17. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.nysun.com/article/more-than-a-third-of-nikki-haley-voters-plan-to-back-harris-in-november-polling-suggests?member_gift=CUZ5qwd3crq4pmz-xrd) reduced by 86%. (I’m a bot)

      > More than one-third of voters who backed Governor Haley's primary campaign against President Trump this year will go to the polls and vote for Vice President Harris, new polling suggests.

      > Based on the number of voters who turned out for Mrs. Haley this year, Ms. Harris could pick up hundreds of thousands of reluctant voters across seven swing states.

      > If 36 percent of Mrs. Haley's primary supporters turn out for Ms. Harris in November, the vice president will pick up nearly 40,000 voters in Arizona – a state Mr. Biden carried by just more than 10,000 votes four years ago.

Yet another poll where undecided doesn’t mean they don’t know who they are going to vote for, it means they are undecided about voting at all.

    19. Adaptation888 on

I’m sure Haley would prefer this so that she can get the nom and win in ‘28. Make politics boring again I say!

    20. Dangerous_Quiet_7937 on

I don’t want to see a landslide victory for Harris, I want to see Harris completely shatter Trumps and the GOPs reality. I want to see a 70% win for Harris and the biggest blue wave ever to wave blue in this country. I want to see a constitutional convention to completely overhaul SCOTUS, abortion rights, cannabis legalization, gun control, and much more. The Republican party needs to dissolve after the last 50 years of regressive corporate profit policy; after the last 10 years of pro-russian policy, hate and fear motivated policy and stolen Judges.

I want to see Harris kick the absolute piss out of the Trump campaign and send that fat sack of shit packing.

I voted blue, my wife voted blue. Get fucked Donald Trump, you treasonous ass faced shit gargoyle.

    21. It’s a shame Hayley is an imbecile. She has no voter base now if she wants to run again in future.

    22. Interesting, but it really all depends on where this 1/3 of Haley voters are located, or if it really is an across the board/all states situation.

If most of these folks are in solid blue states, I wouldn’t expect much to change electorally.

    23. Undercover_NSA-Agent on

Does this account for Democrats that voted for Haley in the primary, or only Republican Haley voters?

    24. Okay, how in the world can all of these headlines be true alongside the apparent tightness of this race? We’ve got Nikki Haley voters going for Harris, loads of his former Trump aides going for Harris, women voting for Harris, disillusioned former Trump voters for Harris…. Really, just scroll through the headlines in this sub and see how frequently this theme shows up.

…but then pretty much all polling suggests that the race is basically a coin toss at this point? What’s going on here?
