Wildest Rumour: Before international fame hit Peter Andre, he used to occasionally do gigs at Masalas on Dhekalia Road.

Given that much of ancient Kition lies beneath modern Larnaca, locals have long believed that entire sections of the ancient city remain hidden underground, with rumors of buried treasure or sacred artifacts lost to time. Archaeologists have uncovered structures like necropolises, sanctuaries, and ship sheds, but the idea of lost tunnels or rooms filled with Phoenician or Egyptian riches persists among treasure hunters.

Rumor (or Fact):
According to the bible, Saint Lazarus was resurrected by Jesus. Then he moved to Cyprus, he died (again) and he was buried in a “larnaka” (a stone carved sarcophagus).
St Lazarus church was built there and Larnaca got its name from this sarcophagus.

The pittas have never tasted as good since the health administration visited Vokolida on Faneromenis and stopped the grill chef from placing them under each arm while he finishing grilling the souvlaki and sheftalies.
