Government abdicated responsibility for providing housing and left it to investors. Public healthcare is getting privatized instead of invested in. Schools were focused more on revenue than educational outcome. Infrastructure projects go to companies, depriving government of hands-on experience, and thus later leaving big decisions in inexperienced hands and consultant firms being brought in instead, with their conflicts of interest and high fees.
