And they’re starting with the management team that got them here, right?

> U.S. planemaker Boeing will cut 17,000 jobs, or 10 per cent of its global workforce, delay first delivery of its 777X jet by a year and announced substantial new losses in its defence business as a month-long strike batters company finances, CEO Kelly Ortberg said on Friday.
They’re blaming the strikers rather than their new “engineering and safety doesn’t matter” business policy.
This is going to get much worse.

They were very equal opportunity with their layoffs when I worked there. You would see everyone from the top didn’t get walked out on layoff days.
You could always tell when it was happening. You would get there in the morning and they would have extra security guards stationed everywhere.

How many will be from the executive and boardroom level?

Boeing to cut 17,000 jobs, or 10% of its global workforce because it is a failing company.
Fixed it!

Anyone else dislike articles that are about a company’s financials or the hiring and firing of employees that get posted here just because it’s from a “techie” company?
Doesn’t seem to be in the spirit of a tech sub to me, am I way off base?

Just the next step in the great Enshittification of Boeing. Aslong as the higher ups keep their high wages & bonuses there is nothing too look at.

It’s no wonder their suppliers have started cancelling their contracts. They don’t want to be on the hook for materials when Boeing sinks

Hopefully starting at the top.

What a classic example of not understanding your business. Took one of most respected names in US manufacturing and turned it into a laughing stock. Quality control less important than ROE. Door falls off plane! Astronauts stranded in space! How sad.

Same old shit. The people who do the actual work, the people who generate the revenue, take the hit for executive and managerial incompetence and arrogance. Why, exactly, do these empty suits and their ass-kissing minions get paid millions and millions a year?

Probably a bad thing to do when your planes are falling out of the sky….
