Many users are seeing AI generated images mixed in with real photos in Google Image searches.
For example, when looking for baby peacocks, users (I also notice) found AI images that didn’t match reality. While searches for celebrities like Elon Musk returned accurate pictures, other searches showed inaccuracies.
Google is using AI to improve search results, but past issues with accuracy remain. Users have suggested filtering out results from before 2022 to avoid AI images, but this might also lose important recent news. This situation shows the difficulty of telling real images from AI generated ones.

tbh, it feels like google seems eager to do whatever they can to make images unusable as shit. ai results suck hard in a vacuum, but this combined with all the other shit changes they’ve made to make it impossible to refine searches, overabundant getty shit, shopping results, it’s pure ass.
what’s worse is every few months i’ll have enough, and install a bunch of extensions to improve the system, only for the extensions to break like a month or two later for whatever reason.

I pray that this bullshit bites Google in the ass someday.

I think Google is the most basic(first) AI tool we had

They need to add a filter option to remove all ai results.

I tried to find a image of a penguin the other day and I’m just trying to imagine who is out there generating slop images of one of the most photographed animals in the world. Who asked for this, there are perhaps millions of real photos of this particular animal but you need ai slop to make a weird melted plastic looking version? What the fuck is happening

They used machine learning to feed AI millions of real pictures to generate AI images.
They will feed AI thousands of artificial AI images to teach it how to find real images again.
