      This simply has to get done. The best time to do it was 40 years ago, the second best time is now.

      If this project fails or gets built as a high frequency rail then I think that’s the writing on the wall for Canada as a serious, capable, and ambitious country.

      This also needs to get approved before the alt right troll becomes PM, cause it sure as shit ain’t happening under that government.

      Just build it.

      I am going to use Japan as an example

      Back when they were looking an building out the Shinkansen they kept debating on if they should or should not build it between the 2 biggest cities, Tokyo and Osaka, but in the end they built it out and it started a revolution with in the country for high speed trains. The passenger count was higher then expected and people just really liked then system.

      If that can get built out then start looking at other routes.

      I know we will not have a Transcanada line as that would be silly but I am sure that there are other lines that could be built.

      As well start looking at lines that cross to the US.

      I’m also thinking about building high speed rail actually all the way to Vancouver. Thought about it this morning

      Haven’t really done any of the track laying yet or whatever it’s called but yeah totally considered it
