A continent full of godless sinners!

Europe is full of bastards
Takes a village, eh, Iceland?
I know three French couples with children, and two of them aren’t married, so this map checks out.
Huh I thought Germany would be higher.
Edit: holy shit is that data from Iceland???
apparently turkish bastards are shat out over the bulgarian border
Is that a map that shows how many births are registered when parents are not married? Like even if parents just chose not to registre governmental marriage, won’t it end up there too?
Icleandic parents stay single because it’s frowned upon to marry your cousin
Vatican, no data? Yeah I think we all know
Why make a distinction between life births or not, seems unnecessary for the information it seeks to represent
Why Albania chilling?
It would be interesting to see the data from Albania and Bosnia, the two European countries with a muslim majority, to compare it with Turkey
Did you just wake up today and decide to roast the baguettes?😭😭
Is this way higher across the board (not you, Turkey) than anyone else would have guessed?
this is basically a map of how religious a country is.
Shitty repost
Marriage is a religious ceremony. Most younger people aren’t religious so this makes sense
Godlessness smh /s
The unshortened percentage for Iceland is probably 69.420%
How many of the dead births are outside of marriage?
Why does it say “live” births? As opposed to laying eggs?
In Germany, getting married shortly before a child is born, i.e. during pregnancy, is not uncommon. Not because of religious reasons or anything, but simply German bureaucracy is a big obstacle for unmarried parents…
For some countries this stat is fairly meaningless these days. Being born “out of wedlock” used to come with stigma, used to have negative socioeconomic consequences for the child, but In 2024 in Denmark, e.g., if a couple has a child, it’s not even interesting if the couple is married or not, it doesn’t enter your mind as a relevant bit of info you should know. I myself am 17 years into a relationship and 5 years into fatherhood – no one is interested in our marriage status (we’re unmarried), and neither are we.
Marriage is an outdated custom that was destroyed by the advent of family court and child support/alimony
France winning as usual, the rest of the world is basically like Talibans submissive to religion dogma 😎
Se la vie…
Iceland has the most incredible acceptance of unmarried parents I have ever witnessed. It is completely socially acceptable to have a baby from a one time hookup at age 20, for example, and co-parent that baby while attending university, and have full social/financial/child support while doing so. There’s so much less shame and stigma than other places I’ve been. And they have way more community support to raise kids than I’ve ever seen in the US/Canada.
Can we not use outdated words like wedlock?
42% in Ireland in more recent stats.
The big difference between Bulgaria and North Macedonia surprises me, what’s the matter with that?
