I’m going to generalise here but it should come as no surprise to the population that a massive subset of the farming population in this country could not give a flying fuck about animal welfare. Whether it’s abusing their livestock or the wanton destruction of ecologically valuable habitat for replacement with agricultural grassland and the loss of fauna that results, there still exists a severe lack of care for anything that doesn’t put money in pockets (Agri-environmental schemes aside, which are proving beneficial for those who partake).

  2. Department of Agriculture asleep at the wheel… again. Who audits them? No one.

IFA propaganda would have you believe the “most eco friendly cows in the world” are positively dying, no pun, to be exported and put to slaughter.

This is happening so often now that the dept. Of Agriculture needs looking at. Why are they always so unaware?

I hate animal farmers with such a passion. An absolute blight on the nation.

Has there been a ‘few bad apples’ press release from the government yet?

It’s a handy number for RTÉ documentary crews when they’re looking for content..just befriend a few farmers and they’ll have a cruelty documentary ready to air in no time.
