TLDR: It’s the same 30 day free trial that anyone can get, AND you have to pay $400 for the hardware with a 2-3 week delivery time.

“If [Musk] was really interested in helping us up here he’d be giving
the devices, letting folks use them for 30 days, collecting them, and
sending them to Florida,” Baughman said

This whole thing is just a sales pitch to get new paying customers.

  3. They should’ve just kept their mouths shut.

Do they think this makes them look good? Predatory marketing to disaster victims is a shitty look even for a Musk company.

  4. I live in the disaster area. Even if this were free, it’s not much use without power. Or gas, or food.

Musk is the only person I’ve ever actively wanted to see deported

So it’s a trial period, and you have to buy the hardware. This is just marketing.

So the same “free” everyone gets when they order the hardware, the first 30 days

I think the idea is that internet services should be back up and running in 30 days right?

He did some shit like this with Ukraine too. Gets the publicity, but never intends to donate anything.

I figured this was what was happening. My mom was talking about how mutch of a good thing he was doing. And I was like “there’s definitely strings attached. Republicans don’t do the right thing for free.”
