      All he had to do is not invade a sovereign nation, and he/she (I don’t know what the preferred pronouns are) could be reading a book on a yacht, taking advantage of their citizens while pretending their election was “fair”

      Why else demolish a villa to discourage a strike on it rather than just vacate it

      Alexei Navalny made a film about Putin’s extravagant home and got twice poisoned, imprisoned, and finally murdered for his trouble. Putin’s position is getting tenuous, so having the peasants see his wealth won’t help.
