  1. By Brendan Cole – Senior News Reporter:

Launch systems for nuclear capable missiles were brought to “combat patrol routes” in Russia, the country’s state media has reported.

The news agency TASS posted video of what it said were the launcher systems for the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) being rolled out in the Novosibirsk compound in Siberia.

Is this just another nuke threat, or are they running out of regular missiles and now bolting conventional warheads on these missiles to ruin apartment buildings and hospitals?

This more then likely means their having to use these launches to fire off normal missiles.

Its entirely possible Putin doesn’t even know this is happening

  4. It means absolutely nothing. They have been doing similar exercises already. If Russia uses nukes, they are finished and they know it.

  5. They always are. Sounds like another week, another nuclear threat from Putin. Kim Jong un is like 🥹

Jesus – how many times has Russia banged on about its strategic nukes being ‘combat ready’. Jokers.

If this is news, then they are just confirming that their nuclear deterrent isn’t credible

  8. These are Yars/Topol-MR ICBMs. They are strictly a nuclear delivery systems, meaning these are made to launch nukes and only nukes. There is no retrofitting conventional weapons to these puppies for any number of reasons, among which the fact that it is impossible to discriminate a nuclear armed weapon from a conventionally armed one in flight. Oh, I know the Russians have a big mouth about “Avangard Hypervelocity manoeuverable RV bla-bla-bla” but that is very much unproven technology.

Also, the “I” in ICBM stands for “Intercontinental” and that does not only consider the maximum range of these systems but their minimum range as well. These missiles in particular have a minimum range making it just about impossible to hit Ukraine with one of these from Russian soil.
(EDIT: Seems I spoke too soon. According to some sources, the newer RV’s on the Yars allow for a 2000-kms minimum range)

So this is just another crass, transparent, “nekulturny” Russian nuclear threat aimed at the civilized world. Same shit, different day

Whatever, like they were not on “active/combat duty” before…

But I know what Putin could do to really scare the West, he should contact Diddy get all that baby oil surplus from him then lubricate that rocket really good and shove it where the sun don’t shine. That level of desperation would really scare the West into submission…

That’s cute…. Here in the United States we just keep them ready all the time and they actually work to boot!

The same button that launches the nukes is that one that shoots putin in the head. He knows it, and since he’s a selfish little gremlin, he will never push it.

These weapons have always been on combat duty, they are part of Russia’s strategic nuclear capability. No news here.

with all the idiocy in the last few years they probably want to make sure the trucks work

US nuclear posture is usually a higher alert level all the time than russian posture
