If the host is telling the truth, this is another example of a corporation hiding being policy instead of acknowledging extenuating circumstances and y’know, being human about it.
I have no idea why this dude thinks this is Air b&b’s problem to resolve. The outcome would be identical no matter how she became his tenant.
Host was totally fine with accepting drug money
Part of this event:
*Major drug seizure nets $4.5M of cocaine, Ottawa police say.*
*2 arrested, 44 kilos of drugs seized in one of largest busts in OPS history*

*Staniszewski’s booking was from Sept. 14 to Dec. 18 last year. The Gatineau, Que., woman was arrested on Dec. 13 by Ottawa police as part of a major drug trafficking investigation. Staniszewski is facing 10 charges, including participating in a criminal organization, conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession of a loaded handgun and high-capacity magazine, according to court documents.*
*She was released on bail a week later, but Daniel says she never returned to pick up her property and didn’t respond to messages.*
Oh no, rich Toronto man who rents a $2 million home on Airbnb deals with consequences of his choice to own multiple properties and take a risk renting to internet strangers. Excuse me while I play the world’s smallest violin for him.
Yeah this situation sucks, but this is a risk that all landlords take when they have assets in use by other people. 28,000 for a 3 month stay? Insane. Cry your tears and then move on, to the next suckers who rent these lofty Airbnb’s.
Somebody give the baby his rattle.
Gosh, that is just terrible. A poorly thought out plan for profit did not work out as intended.

I hope everyone with an Air BnB loses 40k
Please everyone, spare a thought for the real victim here: the AirBnB host who is now out of pocket. Perhaps someone will set up a Go Fund Me that we can all contribute to.
Well he has two options:
1. File a claim with Airbnb because according to their policies, he should be entitled to some compensation.
2. File a claim with the police department for the damages, but he won’t see compensation for the clients he missed out on.
