Platform economy doing [what platform economies are designed to do](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshittification).

By all means continue to escalate with their support until it makes sense for them to pay you off so you go away (from their POV), but do not expect that this is the last time will happen.

They don’t, because they don’t care. It’s been obvious for many years now that Uber does not care about its customers and views this sort of situation as a feature (for them), not a bug (for you). The more people understand this and act accordingly the better.

  3. Only pay via PayPal. There you can just open a case in the app and you will get back your money every time because for the same reason the customer service on Uber is shitty: they have no one to respond to PayPals case and it will therefore be decided in your favor. Did it twice after 3 orders that were all fucked up. Worked both times. Never order again because fuck them.

  4. I don’t even know why they bother with customer service. Ferengi rule of acquisition #1 applies above all else.

Assuming that succeeds, you can expect a letter from a lawyer.

Do you think Uber Eats cares? They’re not in the business of providing a service, they’re in the business of dominating the market and making profits. They can treat their customers (and, in fact, their drivers) with as much contempt as they like because there are few other options available and they’re all equally as bad.

Really, just order directly with local businesses and either pick up your orders yourself, or order from places that still do their own deliveries (and are actually incentivized to keep their customers happy). Don’t help predatory companies like Uber or Lieferando perpetuate a race to the bottom.
