I’m sure that Madonna loved her brother and at times they were very close, but for different reasons it wasn’t always easy for them to coexist. He became one of her backing dancers when she first made it big with the songs from her debut album – one place where most people saw him (even if they didn’t know who he was) was as the male dancer in the [Lucky Star](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgeNQcQMER0) music video. He was also actively involved in her first few tours though not onstage. When he wrote his book in 2008 that caused a rift between them, as she didn’t want him revealing some of the tidbits that were in the book. He was also indirectly involved in an unauthorized auction of some of her memorabilia more recently.

So sorry for her loss(es).
