      Was just about to post this and ask if Iran/Hezbollah/who ever they’re going to blame, attack the Israeli military, something happens where a bomb/bullet/missile hits near the Irish forces and kills or injures someone, what’s going to happen from there?

      They are purposefully and actively putting the lives of peackeepers at risk. And the world will say nothing about it

      There was some stupid cunt on the radio earlier criticising our President for having the cheek to say the IDF were threatening Irish soldiers.

      Basically it’s digging in beside the petting farm or nursery. IDF are banking on Hezbollah being careful near the UN while they fire at will in the opposite direction.

      You’d wonder wtf our “peace keepers” are doing there if they aren’t empowered or capable of keeping the warring parties apart?

      The IDF issuing threats to UN peace keepers is fully beyond the Pale.

      The United States which is the supposed sponsor of the “rules based order” has alot of explaining to do here.

      There’s nothing more “rules based ” or fundamental to that order than the UN, which was set up basically by the US.

      Israel is pissing all over several UN resolutions.

      I guess the US places it’s weird relationship with Israel above it’s pretences to being the sponsor of that order.

      Pax Americana, except when you know when it suits them..

      Peacekeepers are in place with a security council mandate.

      I guess “rules based order” doesn’t apply to Israel or indeed to Iraq and it’s fictitious WMD.

      It’s a pity our American friends won’t back the Ukrainians like they back the Israelis, because honestly turning back the tide of Russian imperialism on whatever terms would be great tvm.

      But then what else would you expect from a country founded on the genocide of the natives to make way for the “right people”?

      Nothing will change, the world is fucked.

      I’ve always tried to comprehend what hard headed “realist” security interest the US has in backing Israeli colonialism and nationalistic aggression and I’ve always failed.

      If you put aside the antisemitic tropes about the “Jews controlling the US” the question becomes what the F does the US get out of this relationship with Israel?

      What is the hard headed, dead eyed national interest the US has in Israel that leads to to massively fund Israeli colonialism and neo apartheid?

      Iran I suppose is the answer. The US needs an attack dog to go after Iran when it feels it can’t.

      🤷‍♂️

      And it follows once the Islamic Republic falls you’ll find Israel like those South American dictatorships after the fall of communism.

      Out of favour.
