Right. Surely no one would try to make _any other type of devices_ explode the next time.

(OK, they might be worried about some unused explodey ones still being around, but I’m still curious about the threat model here.)

So what is all the airport security for? Does it even work at all?

    I mean. It makes sense.
Any unexploded device is a hazard to a flight.

If you’re flying a lot of Hezbollah members around, I can imagine that’s a sensible precaution.

What is it about Emirates customer base that requires banning pagers?

    Hmmmm

  6. If I saw someone with a pager or walkie talkie irrespective of whether there’s explosives in them I’d be pulling my rubber gloves on sharpish.

  7. Realistically speaking, what percent of their customer base still uses a pager?

Yeah, how did Israel know none of their pager bombs was on an airplane?

Anything to declare at customs? Pagers, walkie – talkies cell phones?
