    Semi-serious question.

Does this mean fog-machines are also being banned for school drama productions?

    Same stuff. Vapourised glycol.

With the exception of playgrounds aren’t the others already banned, as they are places of work, or does the smoking ban not cover vaping. Not a smoker so have no clue on this.

Having worked at a hospital, the smoking near hospital buildings is ignored so this won’t change anything.

I live in a block of flats with a shared garden. There’s a group of kids who trespass throughout the summer, ASB overload. They all vape, there’s a couple of older kids who come and sell disposable vapes to them and one kid who’s about 12 years old who smokes roll-ups. Can the government do something to protect everyone from the children?

I don’t disagree with protecting children’s health, but banning vaping near them in public is surely the tip of the iceberg for many kids.

How about they make the super sweet flavours that 10 year olds and Darren from the local pub like to chain vape, at every single opportunity. Chain vaping as they like the taste of the holes in your lung, causing vapes.

Doctors openly admit this but Darren in the comments will disagree and say it’s safer than smoking.

    >Mr Whitty is thought to have pushed for pub gardens to be included in the ban. While no final decision has been made, The Times reported it is unlikely this move will be made following the backlash over suggestions of an outdoor hospitality ban in August.

Good to see reason has prevailed

    That’s cute.
The hospital I visit everyday has signs up as you enter the site telling you it’s a no smoking area.
At every entrance and in many other places throughout there are no smoking signs.
You have to walk through a cloud of smoke/vape at every entrance.
A few of the wards have windows onto outside pavements and they have more signs begging you not to smoke there so smoke doesn’t end up in the ward.

Due to baby layout changes there’s a short outside walk through a small garden off a corridor to get to the Pulmonary oncology (lung cancer) department.
People smoke in the garden it’s littered with cigarette ends.
If it were people with terminal lung cancer I’d think okay fair enough, but it’s not people walking there from other parts of the hospital specifically to smoke.

Curious how the NHS is going to instruct people to use the vape kits they provide.

I’d rather I’d rather have my surgeon vaping during the procedure than craving nicotine. Why are people so obsessed with government managing every little aspect of our lives.

  10. Then also do transport hubs too many kids vaping at the bus stops I use regulary

Maybe they should remove the right to vote, not sure we can we trusted with choice!

How about they don’t do half measures and ban the crap all together, especially disposables

Vaping should be regulated in the exact same way as cigarettes.

Adding fragrances to the vapes, and using a liquid instead of a solid, doesn’t suddenly make it not smoking.

Wait second hand vaping is bad? I just quit second hand smoking!

  15. It won’t deter kids from getting ahold of them, seeing upon how many disposable ones are littered on every street. Ban them quicker and have those who sell that higher fines.

I’m a vape user, I’ve used it to get off smoking, 9 years next Feb. Feel healthier and better on ecigs than smoking normal tobacco. I like it’s taste and sometimes something to keep my hands busy , multiple times I’ve failed upon trying every single other ways of quitting smoking up until a ecig.

Also use it now too for CBD vape juice to help with my fibromyalgia (work related injury caused it).

I don’t use it whilst I’m on school grounds because it’s rude TBF, same on the bus too as it lingers, yes I’m a responsible person cos nothing worse than someone who isn’t prepared to be courteous upon those around themselves.

    Here’s a question that seems to be prejudiced / Pre-judged upon…..

Can anyone provide multiple scientific studies (minimum of 10 for example) that 2nd hand vapour from a ECig is worse than say car fumes or bad as normal 2nd hand smoking or social/family impact of Alcoholic family member?

There doesn’t seem to be anything in regards to show any type of health concerns or negative environment (such as inside a building) concerns yet….

Would people be comfortable saying that energy drinks aren’t allowed to be drank in the same context as the way ecigs is being used as?

The waiting pen outside of most schools is an actual smoking/vaping zone, with dodgy driving/parking mixed-in. Good luck getting ‘em to quit smoking/vaping for just 15 mins before and after pick-up time.
