Taxpayer funds should *not* be spent on religious items. Full stop.

Please! This is nothing more than a scam by what
would normally be an insignificant Herbert (StarTrek) who is sucking up to Donald and religious right at same time. Money works out at about 56 Bibles per school.

Walters has a crush on Trump. Trump doesn’t even know who he is I bet. And if he did, he doesn’t if there’s a problem. And if there’s a problem, Walters isn’t even his type.

If your state or country opts for the bible as a textbook, you are a bunch of sheep led by wolves.

  5. Oklahoma requirement: the Bible must include the Bill of Rights and the Pledge of Allegiance. It makes no sense whatsoever to add this on to the Bible, but it’s christian nationalism on full display.

Just like the trump-shoes, just like the trump-coins, just like the trump-watches…i think the trump-bible might be some sort of scam.

  7. Oklahoma aiming for that 50th spot in educational attainment (I think it’s Mississippi right now but I’m not 100% sure).

    **Revelation 22:18-22**

*AKA Literally the last paragraph in most Christian bibles*

    >18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

    >19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    >20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

    >21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

I read the bible in my 20’s. I also read the Torah. It was a phase of self-exploration that lead me to cut out red meats for a decade as I didn’t want to mix meat and dairy.

Adding the Pledge of Allegiance seems like it violates the word of John the Apostle.

So a not so subtle way to divert $3million directly to trump in what can only be an illegal campaign contribution?

That’s if he sold them at face value of $60. And knowing his grift and it being to a government department, one would think they’ll inflate the cost by a factor of at least 100%

Class, turn to Genesis 19 30-36. This bible story is Trump’s favorite!

  12. They are ordering 55k bibles that retail for $60 each. This bible can be bought for $3-4 in bulk or is available free online if you reduce some of the requirements (the constitution in there etc).

He is wasting $3M of the taxpayer money that can be used for actual learning. That any of his constituents don’t raise a huge fuss is amazing.

  13. I’ll leave this here:

[Oklahoma declines to participate in federal summer food program for children](https://www.kosu.org/health/2024-01-04/oklahoma-declines-to-participate-in-federal-summer-food-program-for-children)

    >Oklahoma is declining to participate in a federal summer food program.

    >Gov. Kevin Stitt’s office says the state will not implement a federal summer food program for children because U.S. Department of Agriculture rules for it aren’t clear.

    >The Summer EBT Program would have covered $40 a month per child in grocery expenses for families with children eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. Families would have received an EBT card, which can be used like cash at the grocery store.

    >The program became permanent this year through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. States must cover half of the administrative costs to implement the program.

    >The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates about 403,000 children would have been eligible in Oklahoma based on state-reported data from the 2022-23 school year. Overall, about one in five Oklahoma children face food insecurity, according to the most recent children’s well-being report from Kids Count.

This is merely a campaign contribution for trump being paid for by the people of Oklahoma.

“seems suspicious” more like he had protesters cleared to hedge a book deal, this is sickening.

So if you lick Trump’s boots without anything in return, does that make one a cuck?

  17. Maleficent-Car992 on

Separation of church and state. There should be lawsuits flying all over these useless grifters.

  18. TheFunUsernamesRGone on

It’s ironic that the constitution in the approved Bible also includes the Establishment Clause (separation of church and state). It’s literally in *the first fucking amendment*.

  19. In my High School library … decades ago we had bibles on the shelf to check out – including Mormon texts.

With the purchases that Oklahoma makes it should be durable for school usage.

Is the Trump bible school use quality? —- Watch this review from a person who reviews Bibles:

    https://youtu.be/i_6TVa7scKM?si=rk3qcVjGx8yZ4DmZ

If it does not meet school quality needs — it is a scam to funnel tax dollars to a political campaign

  20. bookemmalane on

The idea of a Trump-backed Bible being considered for Oklahoma’s school curriculum raises major concerns about the separation of church and state, especially when mixed with political affiliations. Education should be about fostering critical thinking, not reinforcing partisan ideologies. This move could set a dangerous precedent for intertwining politics with religious and educational matters, which undermines both constitutional principles and educational neutrality.

I still haven’t seen a single MAGA comment on any of these posts, seems like they really can’t figure out how to spin this.

Ranked 49th in country for their educational system. If I was an Oklahoman and my legislators votes for this waste of money I would be livid. When is it appropriate to save these people from themselves.

  23. Oklahoman here, I am so relieved to see this finally being discussed in mass. Fuck religion in schools, and fuck Ryan Walters.

PLEASE VOTE, OKIES: if not now, it may be never.

  24. Why does a bible contain the phrase “God bless America”? Is that what Jesus preached while he was nailed to the cross?
