How many more of these you think Hollywood needs before studios stop fast tracking sequels for movies that definitely don’t need them?

People were saying that Gaga is underutilized in this movie

  3. This movie must be super underwhelming. The RT verified audience score is 36%. The unverified audience score is 36%. The critics aggregate is 34%, and Top Critics has it at 28%. Metacritic and IMDB are both around 5/10.

You know a movie blows when it’s the first day and there’s already consensus.

  4. It’s rare to see such widespread rejection for a film or sequel.

  5. I think many people are going to movies to be critical instead of entertained. It’s cool to shit on everything nowadays.

Man, just can’t put my finger on why this movie would do badly.

I knew it. As soon as they revealed the concept, I knew it would be bad. Nobody asked for this.

Just saw it, and it’s not *terrible*, but it’s also not good by any stretch. They could’ve made it a four part limited series on Max, tbh. It’s basically just a courtroom drama-musical.

  9. People are disappointed, there is a monetary reason to care about it. But in the end it is just that.

F tier comment. It could have been good if executed correctly. Hating stuff because of the concept is absolutely zero brain shit.

Damn, even my dad was hearing this movie wasn’t any good and he doesn’t keep up with box office previews at all. This one might me a skip and watch at home. Maybe.

  12. Coming from someone who wasn’t even really a fan of the first Joker, watching the fans of the original just completely lose it over this movie is pretty hilarious. They’re complaining that they made the Joker lame or whatever, when the Joker they liked was already a misanthropic, pathetic loser in the first movie. It’s the same thing with people liking Homleander in The Boys and only later realizing Homelander is a bad guy. These people don’t understand subtext, they need everything explicitly spelled out to them before they realize they’re the ones being made fun of. Did anyone even ask for this level of commentary in their Joker movie? I guess that’s what you get when you give a grandiose, empty, self-important first film a billion dollars, you get what you deserve.

Got a feeling it wasn’t gonna do good, maybe if they didn’t turn it into a musical and maybe it would’ve turned out different? Who knows?

I just can’t understand the direction and what Todd Phillips was thinking. The first one was a dark take, a new direction of his origin story, Phoenix was great, to do a court room musical is just insulting.

Did no one learn their lesson from that awful show years ago called Cop Rock?!
