No idea how making this movie a musical passed every level of clearance to become a film.

Completely out of touch with the demographic that made the first Joker a success

  2. The first film was bad imo but its now good cause this new one should have never seen the light of day.

Seems like Todd Phillips pulled a Justin Simien with similar results.

  4. Even the ending is a poor rip off of other Batman projects. The whole thing felt like Todd hated how people loved the first and he just straight up sabotaged the movie

Consider myself to be a pretty big movie guy and interested in all types of genres. I have had zero interest in this movie over the past couple years and I’m just glad it’s out now so hopefully in another week or so I can fucking stop hearing about it and seeing ads for it. The build up has been so annoying for this film.

    > More favourable reviews saw Danny Leigh for The Financial Times call it less “dislikeable than its forebear”

Talk about damning with faint praise.

Don’t care that it’s a musical but if it’s really a courtroom film just sounds like pure garbage

Fuck. I guess I’m going to have to watch it at this point.

I love Lady Gaga and I love watching a sequel to a movie I already hated turn into a train wreck, so it might be an edible and popcorn moment for me. Perhaps it will be so bad it’s good.

The first Joker was just a play on better movies by a better director. Sounds like this one is just a worse Singing in the Rain?
