      Its totally acceptable to read the Bible and conclude that God’s the bad guy in it.

      God isn’t a human being upstairs with a long white beard and Satan isn’t a big red monster looking character with a pitchfork. God and Satan exist though

      I’m not sure anyone who believes in the Devil (in Christian terms) doesn’t believe in God (in Christian terms).

      The influence of Christianity on Western language and culture has made the Devil and Hell part of the framework for what we use to describe as evil, even in a non religious context.

      Your question should read, “If you know evil exists, why not believe in God?”

      Even the Christian idea of the Devil doesn’t have much actual basis in the Bible and is an overlay that tries to pull together several concepts (and possibly several different beings) into one big bad.

      So sorry but there is no devil or god just humans.. 🙂 humans are the most powerful creatures on earth.. they decide who lives and dies.. they decide who prosper and suffer.. humans are gods and devils.

      I have seen no devils or gods in my lifetime. I have seen people do good and evil things though. Why should I trust people who tell me their god is the right one when there are probably 100 different opinions on which is the right religion. I am an agnostic atheist which means I dont believe humans have the ability to know if there is a god or not and until something is presented with sufficient evidence I tend to think it does not exist. I believe in living a good moral lifestyle ( though im no saint) but you can do that without religion. If there is a god out there hopefully he will judge me on that. If his judgement is you are bad for not going to church on Sunday then so be it.

      All religions are based upon creation and destruction basically what’s happening in the universe

      I doubt both exist. The devil is a construct so that humans don’t have to accept that each of us has the capacity to commit truly evil acts. If we can blame it all on an external source it allows us to sleep easy
