Absolutely justified. Fuck these entitled, greedy cnts! There’s no way these people can fail to see this guys point- food isn’t cheap neither are his overheads and more to the point DONT WASTE FOOD YOU CUNTS!!!!!. Sorry, it really boils my piss as a chef and a not entitled person.

Every all you can eat buffet place I’ve been to had some sort of disclaimer saying that they reserve the right to charge for uneaten food.

I’ve never actually seen it enforced, but then I’ve never seen someone leave what is effectively an entire roast dinner on their plate, either

A Chinese hot pot place in my city centre charges people £5 if they leave a lot of food on the plates. it does cut down in waste and I agree they should be charged. Or be given the option to take home a doggy bag and eat the rest of the food later.

£2.40 each for leaving a full plate of food. I don’t think that’s enough

I can’t go to a carvery any more as the sheer volume(!) of fat cunts over eating winds me up, and they fucking leave most of it after visit number four. u/Large-Sign-900 gets my vote.

I’ve never seen a sign like that at any buffet, but if I did see one I’d abide by it. It’s a good idea.

They did leave a full plate, not just a couple of bits. And presumably that was after a couple of visits to the buffet. If it was after one visit then it’d be extremely unfair, but it sounds like the pub knew for certain it was after more than one.

I mean… isn’t any all-you-can-eat situation an enormous waste anyway? I’m not saying what they did wasn’t bad, but it seems a bit rich to complain about their waste when I’m sure an obscene amount of food goes in the bin at the end of each sitting anyway. Not to mention that people stuffing themselves until they can’t eat more is also terribly wasteful when you think about it.

Unless they do something with the leftovers? Happy to be educated.

  8. A brilliant idea I say and justified.

You put the food on your plate so you better eat it too. The sign states it clearly.

The world is so wasteful and entitled today, not realizing people are out there starving and eating left overs from the public bin.

Massive sign at the carvery saying excess will be charged, greedy eyes to blind to read

Left over plates should be weighed.Charges then based on the weight of the leftover foods on a rising scale. I think some restaurants actually do this.

I worked at a carvery as a kid and the amount of food that went to waste was obscene. Good idea.

These people are hard working folks, it’s hard enough nowadays with people using food banks and struggling to make ends meet. Then in comes a pair of muppets and waste a ridiculous amount of food, time and effort into preparing the food too. Fuck them they don’t get the traditional rate for being asshats, I hope you made them pay double 100%👍

Every buffet I’ve been to in recent years has this rule. I agree to be fair, hate food waste.

Seems a sensationalist headline that omits that it was a carvery/all you can eat situation tbh, shows the state of modern journalism. They were rightly charged extra for picking up more food than they could eat, the amount that they left behind was more than what any I’ve had as a full (non carvery) mean in other places, £2.40 even seems a bit cheap.

The trouble is the handful of those with eyes bigger than their bellies end up spoiling it for the rest of the population as if it happens too much, costs go up or all you can eat ends up going away.

  15. I noticed in the US some places encourage people to take home food and provide doggy bag boxes free.

The line made me terrified as a person with partial situs invertus. Then I saw all you can eat. Why would someone go to a buffet and leave a bunch of food?
