    >It’s official: Donald Trump’s plan for massive deportations would apply to legal immigrants, as well as undocumented immigrants.

    >During an exclusive interview with NewsNation, Trump said he planned to strip the legal status of the Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, who have been granted Temporary Protected Status.

  2. Vance said this weeks ago. He said that just because Harris “waved her magic wand” and made them legal doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be deported.

They have every intention of deporting anyone they don’t like. Or rounding them up and throwing them in camps. Remember McCarthy? Being a registered Democrat will cost you under their administration.

This was always the threat. Mixed race magas and magas with mixed race family members whom they view as white are in complete and delusional denial.

  4. TrooperJohn on

In the event that Trump gets in, let’s plan on throwing farewell parties for pro-Trump immigrants who get deported.

  5. code_archeologist on

Trump (and Project 2025) **always have been** threatening to deport legal immigrants. They are even suggesting denaturalizating natural born citizens who are political enemies.

These are literally a modern version of the Nuremberg Laws.

Damn, all this time the conservative media heads were stressing that they like legal immigration and it’s only illegal immigration they want to stop.

Well, just like anything else they get by licking Trump’s boots, he’s rug pulled them.

They’re now against legal immigration too. They are pro-censorship, anti-legal immigration, anti-personal freedoms, anti-economy (they love Trump’s tariff plan which will cause rampant inflation and unemployment), and of course anti-American (this is a free square with their love for the pro-slavery traitor flag and ‘better russian than democrat’ shirts).

RFK Jr supporters are also all of that. Womp womp. Sucks to suck.

  7. OppositeDifference on

It seems at this point Trump’s trying to win EXCLUSIVELY on anti-immigrant sentiment. Pretty much every single issue, they go back to immigrants. Election security? The problem is illegal immigrants voting. Jobs? Immigrants are taking them. Housing costs? It’s so expensive because illegal immigrants are somehow buying all the houses. … etc etc… You name a policy, he’s gonna find a way to blame all the problems on immigrants.

Remember the famous quote from Martin Niemöller:
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me

This is what fascists always do.

Cool. I’ve got a list of where to start:

    1. Elon Musk
    2. Melania Trump

  10. Not only is he looking to revoke protected status, but he will also try to denaturalize citizens as well as end birthright citizenship. They could go as far as applying retroactively. This man tried to steal an election, there’s no limit on how extreme he could take things

  11. adamiconography on

All those Hispanic voters who scream “I’m legal TRUMP 2024!”

    Yall next.

“They can’t deport me I’m legal, they can’t break the law!”

Leopards are about to be feasting if he wins.

  12. Someone should tally up the economic cost to Springfield if Trump/Vance got their way and deported all the immigrant laborers. Then they should extrapolate the economic effect of doing that to the rest of the USA.

Vance got a bit of a pass in the VP debate because he didn’t get called for not answering that question. Places like the WSJ, the NYT, and WaPo are assuming it’s all just talk. That’s not their role in society. Someone needs to step up and fill that information vacuum. It’s nice that some Nobel Prize winning economists wrote a letter, but the story needs to be told too.

The public needs to be informed of the danger before November.

  13. StashedandPainless on

Ok media and trump suppoter apologists, lets be abundantely clear about what this policy is: Racist.

It is not about the integrity of immigration law as these people are following those laws. It is not about public safety because there is no evidence of increased crime and you don’t hear them even calling for enhanced law enforcement in Springfield. It is very simply about the fact that they believe Haiti is bad and if people from Haiti come into a community then they will make that community bad like Haiti.

We have a word for believing people are bad based on their ethnicity, race, or country of origin: racist.

Stop dancing around the issue. Stop whitewashing it. trump supporters are not economically insecure. They are not “just angling for change”, they are not “anti-establishment”. They are racist.

We should start be deporting Trumps wife. Illegally immigrated here on an Einstein visa and she’s no Einstein.

  15. AffectionateWeb7803 on

I lived in the US for 7 years. First on a J1 trainee visa, then on an H1B visa. After Trump got elected I made a choice the next day to save and leave the US for good.

In 2018 when I finally left, I qualified for a green card, but I didn’t want it. I knew the direction it would go.

Everyone said I was crazy and no one willingly gives up that chance, but there hasn’t been a single day I regret leaving.

It was horrid living in a red state as a black immigrant then, and I can’t imagine what an immigrant is dealing with living there now.

  16. Titfortat101 on

He already did this remember? He threatened to deport students who were protesting and threatened to take the visas of international students.

  17. old_and_boring_guy on

That’s what he was always doing, since there is no barrier to deporting illegals. When he’s talking about voting, about social services, about aid…He’s not talking about *illegals*. Illegals can’t vote, and don’t get any sort of assistance except at the most basic levels that anyone can get if they just walk in the door.

He’s talking about *legal* immigrants. Those are the bastards who are voting, getting social services, taking some of your FEMA money when their house gets trashed.

  18. Darius2112 on

The GOP will not rest until the US is a ‘whites only’ country.

  19. His supporters think there are millions of illegal immigrants who are doing nothing but collecting government assistance, so there would be no loss if they disappeared. In reality, the cost to deport and replace them in the workforce would cause substantial harm.

  20. pureplay181 on

This would be a violation of US and international law and a human rights violation as well as a violation of the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are Charter Members of the UN and accepting refugees is settled international law.

Doesn’t that mean not only having a dictator but also LEAVING THE UN? We would have to leave the UN Security Council. China and Russia would love that.

This is like a big game of chess that we would be losing.

  21. Trump’s policies are directly inspired by “kindred blood” rules that the Nazi’s used. There is little room for doubting this at this point.

The violence the state will need to inact in order to deport 1,000,000 people from the US will be insane. Think about the bureaucratic, soulless machine that will be put into place – it will be a deport and ask questions later approach. The number of stories we will see about families getting broken up, Americans getting caught up and becoming stateless – all of it will be ‘the price of MAGA’.

Anyone that supports this is completely ignorant of the consquences for putting this system in place. It isn’t going to stop with “hated minority flavor of the day” – this system will be used to purge America of anyone that stands in the way of dear leader and his entourage of hate.

  22. I’d suggest start with Melania, but she probably already wants to get far away from don-OLD.

  23. LookOverall on

It’s been clear for some time that there is no distinction in Trump’s mind between legal and illegal immigrants.

  24. Hi_Im_Ken_Adams on

Go tell all the Cuban-American and Vietnamese-American immigrants who are Republicans

  25. LoyalToSDSoil on

Of course. This never had anything to do with “illegal vs. legal”. It’s scapegoating non-white people for all problems white people have. That’s all it’s ever been.

  26. JuicyGooseCakes on

Let’s not pretend, he always meant anyone not white. Legal, illegal, they are just dogwhistles.

  27. catsdontliftweights on

First it’ll be legal immigrants. Then it’ll be American citizens who aren’t snow white, then it’ll be people who didn’t vote for him. His cult members will be just as impacted as everyone else. But when you vote for someone who says they don’t care about you just your vote, then you deserve it, but no one else does and that’s the issue.

  28. 9_of_wands on

Yeah but Tim Walz misremembered the month when he went to Hong Kong 35 years ago, so really, both sides, right?

  29. MoneyManx10 on

He is threatening to send back Haitians who never did anything wrong.
