Someone should tally up the economic cost to Springfield if Trump/Vance got their way and deported all the immigrant laborers. Then they should extrapolate the economic effect of doing that to the rest of the USA.
Vance got a bit of a pass in the VP debate because he didn’t get called for not answering that question. Places like the WSJ, the NYT, and WaPo are assuming it’s all just talk. That’s not their role in society. Someone needs to step up and fill that information vacuum. It’s nice that some Nobel Prize winning economists wrote a letter, but the story needs to be told too.
The public needs to be informed of the danger before November.

Think about the bureaucratic, soulless machine that will be put into place – it will be a deport and ask questions later approach. The number of stories we will see about families getting broken up, Americans getting caught up and becoming stateless – all of it will be ‘the price of MAGA’.
