Not surprising. There’s a large population of Adult gamers and a lot don’t have the time to stay competitive in online games.

53% is basically “opinions are equally divided”, not “majority prefers one option”.

Interesting choice of image for this considering that Bloodborne sits right at the center of the crossroad of single-player and multiplayer.

  4. When I was younger, I was all about the competition. Shit, I hit number one on the unreal tournament leaderboards a few times.

Now, I just don’t have the mental energy. I’m Candy Crush type games now, lol. I need to chill out before bed.

Single player or multiplayer, I prefer it to be an experience enjoyed with friends. I do get more for my buck socially with the latter, but then they have the tendency to be more energy-consuming.

I wish for something like Slay the Spire but multiplayer.

offline single player that doesn’t force updates that change game rules randomly on me is preferred

No no it’s the gamers who are wrong, they want subscription always online shit multi player game pass AAAAAAAA game -ubi

  8. I prefer beating a human because AI can generally be cheesed in a specific repeatable way once you notice it.

If multiplayer didn’t have a constant influx of cheaters it would be a lot more fun.

  10. I only have time for very pause-able single player games these days. And they’re relaxing

This is probably a very unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed the MW3 single player campaign and I never really played multiplayer at all. It was like a 12 hour long movie with some great action sequences. Probably helps that I got the game free with Xbox gold

Why can’t we like both? Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don’t

my perfect game is one that I can play while my wife is getting ready to go somewhere.. so I could be free for 2 minutes or 2 hours, and I won’t know which until she walks down the stairs.

  14. As long as there are games like Tlou, witcher, god of war, elden ring and rdr, single player games will live

I missed the old days staying all night playing Final Fantasy and Suikoden Games alone in a dark room. Those were the golden day’s of single player gaming. But not most games are either team games or mmorpg which is mostly pay 2 win and the essence of real gaming is gone

For over a decade now I’ve refused to play anything multiplayer. I hate it.

  17. That’s a weird way to categorize games. What’s the difference between PVE and single player?

There is couch coop and online PVP, so apparently you can’t play online coop or couch PVP?

  18. My friends play coop games a lot and often ask me to play with them. The problem is they’re fickle and will play a game for a week and then go onto the next hot thing, so I’m left with a game that I’ve paid for and have no one to play with.

  19. Bit of a loaded stat. I’d be curious of the hours played what % makes up single player gamers.

  20. Tell that to Ubisoft etc. If they drop battle passes etc too from the SP story driven games. I might buy more of them

I play games to zone out after work. I don’t need a bunch of 13 year old pricks yelling at me.

I’d much rather play single player games with long campaigns. I know that seems to be a bit of a rarity these days but I am not into playing with other players. Just let me do my own thing…

I would like to play more multiplayer games.. Fuck online games though. I want split screen but I only play PC games and even games made for split screen just don’t have that option on PC. I’m not spending quality time with my kids if everyone is on their own computer in a different corner of the house.

Maybe if they could actually secure online games we’d play them more…

Got no incentive to compete when there is constant cheating wankers around who don’t even try to hide that they’re cheating..

I prefer multiplayer but it can be a pain in the ass keeping up with meta stuff (Dota) being so busy. If I didn’t already have a ton of hours in the game then it would be difficult to keep up. The thing is though, causal players at lower rank don’t typically play the same “game” as higher ranks and their meta is often drastically different
