  2. Or, and hear me out. Engines powered by solid materials in a highly ordered repeating pattern. Like a sort of crystal. And since we know that lithium cell batteries are good, maybe if we find some of these crystals that were more energy dense, maybe like twice as dense, we could use those. These “di-lythium” crystals could power space craft up to and PAST the light speed barrier…

    This is just a guess based on very limited data but it seems like the thruster just works on the basis of turning metals into plasma using electricity and ejecting it through the nozzle. The say they can provide 1 order of magnitude more thrust compared to ion thruster of the same size. Based on [the following datasheet](https://digitalcommons.usu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=4956&context=smallsat) it seems like they expect slightly higher Isp compared to hall effect thruster so assuming a ship would have sufficient energy budget the Magdrive may be a better choice assuming they reached their performance targets.

  4. It doesn’t matter what fuel the thruster uses. You still have to get however many tons of it into orbit before you can start rocketing around. So much has to happen first before there are going to be spaceships harvesting raw materials in order to refuel on their way to Pluto or wherever.

    Let’s get one thruster that can burn anything as a fuel.
