They’re leaning into cringe, which is what made the US Office work so well, but does that type of humor sell to modern audiences? Like how Friends or Seinfelds humor hasn’t necessarily aged well.

People don’t hate this new office because the lead is female. They hate it because it’s cringe and it’s fucking shite

It is a measure of how good The Office was that the US and other versions of it and Gervais’ subsequent travails have not damaged its reputation at all. C’mon Australia, I believe.

Just because he gives the nod doesn’t mean the viewers give the nod. While not a fan of this show, I have issue when long standing characters are replaced by something very different. Superman and Spider man are well known to be while males. To switch that up seems odd to me. Before people get mad the argument stands for say Wakanda where they now have a white leader for a black nation or changing Mary popping to a male character etc. This is what gets me annoyed.

I’ll be honest, kayfabe aside, I’d taken an aging Latin lover like Antonio B. over the younger generic F-Boy anyway. I know that’s not the point of the movie but…

Weird watching yanks think this is shit based on a trailer. Have they watched the US version? It’s fkn boring!

  7. I don’t understand making two remakes of the same show. Is creativity dead?

The almighty shield of the entertainment industry. Maybe one day they’ll just admit that their show/movie simply sucked ass.

  9. I wish this had been a new show. I love the cast but lumping the office plots in is irritating and exhausting. Hopefully if it gets a second season it can be like the US office and find its footing.

Until then, try Fisk and Utopia!
