      One thing climate change did that we rarely talk about is the unending examples of “I got mine” hypocrisy that these assholes crap out on a daily basis. It’s like with school shootings.

      All these guys have is fake identity based fear mongering and culture war gaslighting/projection to run on. No policy to help, only rhetoric to hinder.

      No, Botox Matt gets to grandstand, be one of the “true patriots” to MAGA and kill this off. Florida has one of the biggest insurance issues in the US, so this is a direct slap.

      The only saving grace is that he knows there are adults in the room that will do the right thing. Its a shame that his district can’t figure this out.

      TBH, while it feels utterly predictable that the GOP votes against the very aid that it publicly SCREAMS for…I am actually confused. What’s the point of the votes when they so publicly cry for federal aid? Who the hell are they impressing by voting against what they ask for?

      That’s in the MAGA playbook. Create chaos, create a crisis, make things worse, then blame Democrats. It’s getting old, I would think his constituents would be onto the game by now but obviously they’re not.

      – I would withhold aid from congressional districts that had their rep vote against aid packages…let the voters suffer the consequences of who they elect…perhaps they actually think before they vote?

      When did America stop helping people? Fund the programs we need to help Americans. I get those who say spend money here not over seas. I don’t agree with it, but can we all agree as Americans that we need to start helping each other more. We are starting to pit household against household and that is not a good place to be.

      That….”representative” should now put his money where his mouth is and decline all FEMA assistance for his district. The people in his district by majority,felt he was the best amongst them to represent their interests. So be it.

      I bet he would have voted for the government shut down too.

      Imagine if even a handfull of democrats would have went along with the Republicans government shut down stunt and this happened and all the governments would have be hampered by it. 

      Not to mention the Heritage Foundations Project 2025 wanting to defund our storm tracking capabilities.

      Out ability to track the storm was one of the main ways people were able to prepare for this storm, even if they didn’t fully know how bad it would be for this region.

      People need to be held accountable for who they send to Washington to represent them. If your Representative does not feel FEMA is important,that’s fine. If funding still passes FEMA continues,however those districts which voted against funding shall receive no funding.People need to be held responsible and be serious about who represents their interests. I understand the issue of gerrymandering,but people are still voting the worst amongst them gerrymandered or not. Maybe watching the first couple towns having to hold bake sales to rebuild would actually convince voters to bring their very best and serious to Congress,Democrat or Republican,rather than the clowns they send in.
