Not what the folks trying to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene needed today. Currently my spouse and I have phone plans with the same carrier, going to change this going forward.

My phones been dead all day. Their website has nothing about it, and their support page is currently broken, so I couldn’t even get help this morning. I had to see this post to even know this was going on.
My phone works but our AT&t fiber is out. A. I’m east of Atlanta so not only are we dealing with hurricane fall out but also we had a chlorine plant catch fire yesterday morning so we also have a stay-in-place order here. Can’t catch a break…
So crazy. Verizon is down for `some` users all over the country. My buddy in MA, my daughter in AL, and me in CA. Meanwhile my buddy 40mi away has full service.

How can you even tell? Seems like it’s out all the time.
Would love to see telecommunications nationalized. These corporations take government subsidies, break infrastructure promises, raise out rates and then fail when they are needed the most. The CEO of this company makes over $25 million each year for screwing the public.
Apparently, every time I go into my local Wal-mart, T-mobile seems to not exist. It’s like the service takes a vacation while in that store.

Seems like if you have a 4g only phone you should be fine. But a solid chunk of 5g phones are down. My fold 3 and my wife’s pixel 8 are down, my work iPhone 11 is working. The Verizon CTO should be handing their resignation letter in by EOD.

Mine is affected but my husband’s is not. We are in 2 different locations currently.
Remember you can use wifi calling, facetime, and apps like skype, as long as your internet provider is working.

I am in Salt Lake City, Utah and I have SOS only. At least with WiFi I can text. I have not tried calling anyone yet.
EDIT: I just tried calling a friend and the call would not go through so I hope texting is working.
Southern Cali here without service. Friend next to me has Verizon and he’s not impacted.

I don’t have service but my mom does and she’s on my plan and she lives in another town.

How is it possible that the phones have been in S0S mode since 9 am this morning and not a peep from Verizon nor any talk of it on mainstream media? What the actual fuck is happening? It’s obvious some sort of hack that we won’t find out about for 2 years from now and they will tell us all oh BTW 2 years ago all your info and data was stolen but here’s five bucks for your troubles. We need satellite phone coverage like yesterday
Baltimore here. Service just kicked back on at 5pm.
There’s an outage? Me and my husband have been texting no problem all day and the spam calls are coming in just as heavy as ever.
There is no rhyme or reason.
6 phones on my account and none of us have service, although we all lost it at different times.
My coworkers who have Verizon both have service. One has the exact same phone as me (S24 Ultra) purchased at the same time
For iOS you can try reset network settings. I saw it suggested in Mashable (please look this up /‘sndor trust me) but it did work for me.
They are great at bugging you about promotions every other day but can’t get a public announcement out about nationwide coverage issues. Horrible communication for a company so many depend on.
can anyone confirm if they are seeing issues with eSIM but not with physical SIM? wondering if they borked the auth for the eSIM customers
