    From the article:

    >Former President Donald Trump openly admitted that he “hated” to pay his workers overtime at the Trump organization and would even replace those who spoke out about it—comments the Harris campaign immediately seized upon.

    >Harris-Walz 2024 spokesperson Sarafina Chitika latched onto the comments from Trump’s latest rally, saying in a statement emailed to the Daily Beast: “Donald Trump is finally owning up to it: He’s built an entire career on screwing over workers. It’s exactly what he did in the White House—trying to rip away tips and overtime pay for millions of workers–and exactly what he plans to do in a second term.”

He never pays anybody – local governments, small businesses, his own employees. The cult loves it though and they keep begging for him to keep fucking them because they are all low IQ.

  3. Weren’t news orgs breathlessly running with his “I’ll end taxes on overtime pay” bullshit just a couple weeks ago? You mean, just like everyone said he was, he was lying and in line with Project 2025? (which he has continually lied about not supporting)

I’m sure next time they’ll figure it out and not just be stenographer for his lies. Next time! (/s)

Don’t have to worry about taxing overtime pay if you don’t get any…really great proposal Dumpf…

  5. The most successful thing the GOP ever did to ensure their own survival was to latch onto the culture wars. Now you can get tens of millions of people to screw over their own families, their paychecks, their retirements, their reproductive rights, and their democracy just so they can vote against the outrage they feel that, for instance, a handful of trans athletes across the country are competing in the sports of their declared gender.

Workers voting for THE scab president is just a symptom of that. They don’t care that they’re voting for the scab, as long as they get to stick it to the “woke mob”.

Isn’t unpaid overtime wage theft? Aren’t there laws to prevent this?

Garbage headline, nothing in their reaction is “fuming”. But “fuming” is one of those weak, ineffectual words. Trump rants, like a big strong man, and Kamala fumes like a minority woman. Bad framing by bad media.

  8. ReasonableNose2988 on

I can’t imagine any of his supporters that have to work overtime supporting this.

I hear this as a Flight of the Conchords song: “In the future, there will be no more taxes on overtime pay. Also, there will be no overtime pay.”

  10. yes!

if trump is elected will follow project 2025 and essentially get rid of overtime as a concept in work:

    * …**raise the overtime pay threshold**. This means that fewer people will qualify for overtime pay. [[592]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=625)
    * …**allow employers and workers to agree that overtime will be calculated over two weeks or four weeks instead of one week**. This means that if you work a lot of extra hours one week, but then work fewer hours the next week, your boss might not have to pay you overtime if the total number of hours you worked over the two weeks or four weeks is less than 80. [[592]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=625)
    * …**change the rules about overtime pay for people who work from home**. This means that if you work from home, your boss might not have to pay you overtime unless you work more than 10 hours in a day. [[589]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=622)
    * …**make it easier for businesses to classify workers as independent contractors**. This means that if you are classified as an independent contractor, you will not be eligible for overtime pay. [[591]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=624)
    * …**allow businesses to not pay overtime for certain benefits they provide to workers**. This means that if your boss gives you benefits like help paying for school or childcare, they might not have to pay you overtime for those benefits. [[592]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=625)
    * …**weaken unions, including potentially eliminating public sector unions altogether**. Unions are often instrumental in negotiating and protecting overtime pay provisions in collective bargaining agreements. A decline in union power could lead to weaker overtime protections. [[599]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=632) [[82]](https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf#page=115)

trump speaking to elon musk on labor, labor rights, and worker compensation:

    >”You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.”

trump off script true feelings about overtime:

    >I know a lot about overtime. I hated to give overtime. I hated it. I’d get other people. I shouldn’t say this but I’d get other people in, I wouldn’t pay. I hated it.

[https://www.25and.me/](https://www.25and.me/) is a resource i found out recently, it’s useful to know where donald trump will stand on specific issues after he’s elected. it provides direct links to locations in the actual project 2025 document, “Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise”.

This is somehow the worst campaign ever, even worse than his 2016 and 2020 ones, and people still vote for him. But it’s like he’s trying to lose.

  12. dominantspecies on

And yet the Teamsters are acting like there is no clear choice. Fucking idiots.

  13. Well, that’s a shitty headline. Why would the Harris campaign be upset that Donald dumbass made us stupid political mistake? You would think they would be dancing with joy for a gaff like that

  14. IllustriousLimit7095 on

Vince McMahon and Trump are friends…

This group delusional hypnosis is a cross over from “wrestling” and no critical thinking.

  15. Impossible-Ad7465 on

Trump is not even a scab. He is a bloody, infected lesion festering on America’s ass. A boil that just won’t pop. He stinks like decaying pus. Lance him on Nov. 5th and let the healing begin. The stench will linger on the Republican party forever.

  16. an_agreeing_dothraki on

Trump is worse than a scab.
He’s a boss that hires scabs

  17. ‘Harris campaign fumes’ is an odd choice of words for the headline.

  18. cocokronen on

He has a lot of working class followers, many of whom would not lime their ot taken away.

    > “I know a lot about overtime. I hated to give overtime, I hated it. I’d get other—I shouldn’t say this—but I’d get other people in. I wouldn’t pay,” Trump said,

OK – I understand that – makes sense. He’s ripping people off like he has his entire life. Gotcha Donnie.

    > adding: “This is going to lead to a lot more. I think it’s going to be economically positive, but I’m not even doing it for that reason. I’m doing it because, like the tax on overtime, it’s something so good.”

What is the name of everything good and holy does that even mean? WTF is he on about?
