      Unpopular opinion but this is not okay, and worst, it’s counterproductive.

      One of the things we take pride here is freedom of speech and free from censorship.

      Having someone decide for me what I can and can’t listen to or watch is a very slippery slope.

      On the counterproductive side I have my personal example, I never cared or barely even knew about RT, and since their website was blocked a year or so ago I now find myself using a VPN to access it every now and then to understand what’s being pushed and what the narrative is on the other side.

      Had they been allowed I’d probably never have cared bothered or known about RT.

      Superior European free speech: you can say anything you want as long as the government allows it.

      Inferior Russian censorship: you can say anything you want as long as the government allows it.

      I don’t understand what’s taking German Government so long to react to the Russian disinformation. While the far right and the disinformation is making itself attractive on literally every social media channel such as Facebook, X and Tiktok, I don’t see the Government doing campaigns on social media to approach unsatisfied or brainwashed young people just like Kamala Harris has been successfully doing over there in USA. It has been shown that nowadays social media presence is doing a lot and somehow the German democrats are hesitant to realize this.

      Banning of news sources is a very bad sign for the EU. Instead blocking, we should focus on countering propaganda with truths.

      Media like RT have been around spreading Russian lies and propaganda for way longer than just a couple of years

      It’s been over a decade already

      Baffling that the western world is waking up to it and taking action only now

      the internet is chock-full of it too, wtf have they been doing against that though ? nothing

      It’s too late, Europeans are massively giving in to the propaganda and voting far-right, more and more

      Putin’s hybrid war is working

      EDIT : and proof of that is every time you say that fact on reddit : it gets downvoted

      they’re EVERYWHERE, russian trolls, bots, and pro-russian european, monitoring opinion
