      Firefox and UBlock Origin all the way. I couldn’t use YouTube without it and I feel no guilt. There are plenty of other, direct ways to support your favorite content creators.

      Honestly im a little addicted to YouTube so all the ads are helping me spend less time on it… so im all for it actually

      Basically all the streaming services are doing this now. Hulu, Max, Prime all do this too.

      So I guess pause needs to be macroed with mute? I use ad blockers, are these static images or videos?

      I watched a video last night and had more ads than a regular TV show would have, and they kept saying “Watch this ad and you’ll be ad free for the rest of your video” and then they’d show me more ads.

      imagine pausing a video to read important information in the screen for an emergency, and it just keeps getting covered by ads

      This in conjunction with content creators injecting their own ads has made the whole experience miserable without Adblocks

      Excessive ads are so bad. Needs to be some sort of consumer watchdog to limit how many ads and duration across all media platforms.

      Time to wake up to ad blockers cause they are literally shoving every ad down the masses face and it’s working good for them bad for the user experience

      I’ve stopped using it on devices without ad blockers like Xbox and iPhone. Fuck YouTube.

      Sometimes I pause videos so I can look at a detail closer. Maybe step through framewise using the shortcut keys. This reduces the usefulness of youtube as a whole by interferring with existing features.

      Do these pause ads include audio? It’d be a kick if you needed to pause a video to pay attention to someone, but couldn’t listen anyways because the ad was still too loud
