balancing act for Johnson, but avoiding a shutdown is crucial right now. It’s clear he’s trying to juggle party demands and keep things running smoothly. Let’s see how this plays out in the Senate and if it leads to any lasting changes in the GOP dynamics.

Donald Trump is a terrorists. He has successfully blocked the border bill.

I am glad he was unsuccessful in closing down the government.

And the new stop gap bill will end right before Christmas. I can’t imagine anything horrible happening, especially if there is a Blue Wave and a lot of the House Republicans feel like they have nothing left to lose.

Why does Trump, a twice impeached former one term president have any say on a government spending bill?

All the Maga good for nothing rubes need to be voted out of existence.

    Vote Blue.

Nancy never had these problems. Now there was a leader who could push the Democratic agenda. Thanks Nancy!👏👏👏

Democrats save republicans from themselves again. – a better headline

  9. I met my Congressman today and guess how he voted? Against the spending bill. Ugh, I wish there were any hope for my district to have a better candidate and now this guy is going to certainly be our next Senator because my state is so damn red.

  10. If I had a nickel every time the GOP had to turn to Democrats to save them, I’d have enough to take my wife out to a very nice dinner

  11. not one Democrat was named or mentioned in that article, lol. CNN, as always, consistently biased.

Dog killer Mike Bost votes to shut down the government. Good things we have responsible congresspeople.

This is not the first time Dems have bailed this fucker out. Republicans are non-functioning.

LOL….I can’t wait to hear it: “Speaker of the House, RINO, Johnson….”

And MAGA is knives out for him. He is a RINO, he’s compromised…. They have zero interest in effective governance. Loyalty to Trump is the only metric that matters

House republicans are absolutely ungovernable yet Dems come to the rescue every single time. What a joke

  18. Oh look at that once again, Democrats have to bail out Republicans because they can’t get their house in order.

  19. I told you Biden has a sense of humor.

‘Biden applauded Congress for “avoiding a costly government shutdown,” saying in a statement that it gives lawmakers “*more time to pass full-year funding bills by the end of this year.*” ‘

And this must be why he’s demanding that the US ambassador be fired, to distract the MAGA base from his “traitor” (to them) action to keep the government funded and running

Is it just me or does Johnson seem like he has zero friends in his own party? Did they make him speaker as a prank?

I may be completely wrong on this but couldn’t we just a a same people pass a budget that doesn’t threaten everything every 4 months. We have the largest economy in the history of man. We have a deficit roughly 6.3 of gdp. Are their no grownups in the room …ever
