      It’s so funny — but not really funny — to watch the MAGAs spin about Russia.

      I know some older folks who grew up in the Cold War and have been anti-Russia all their lives. They were *outraged* at the invasion of Ukraine. But as time went by and it was increasingly obvious that Trump was against helping Ukraine …. well, that was cognitively uncomfortable. They seem to have resolved the issue by either flat out denying that Trump is anti-Ukraine (a fantasy that is getting impossible to maintain) or by convincing themselves that Russia is the good guy after all. That’s where I expect most of them to end up. Easier that admitting that they were wrong about Trump.

      The Ukraine and Middle East wars have been fully subsumed in the US culture wars by y to he Republicans. If Trump wins Ukraine is screwed and if Harris wins Republicans claim Israel is screwed. It’s a funny old world we live in.

      Zelenskyy went full send after JD’s comments about an agreement to end the war with Russia. Vance suggested Russia keeps the lands they’ve invaded and a demilitarized zone be established to prevent further invasion. Zelenskyy responded “I do not consider this CONCEPT of his plan, in any formal sense.”

      He’s a fucking Russian asset.

      He fired James Comey because the FBI opened an investigation into whether or not Trump coordinated with the Russians during the 2016 campaign. The investigation was shut down.

      Robert Mueller wanted to interview/depose Trump for the reasons why he fired Comey (I.e., obstruction of Justice).

      Bill Barr blocked Mueller from getting that interview. Instead written questions were submitted and “Trump” (or his lawyers) responded a month later. Most answers were non-responsive and/or evasive. No follow up questions were allowed. Investigation died.
