Please dear god, someone get her some media training. This is exhausting.

  2. I don’t really know her music, but I know her name now. She’s everywhere lately, fame really seems to be chewing on her.

  3. Mountain-Extreme8242 on

She is so odd, in her most recent video called out the left for transphobia and Israel… and no specifics on the right and their plans. She needs to step away from the phone, she keeps saying a whole lot of nothing with lots of words. She doesn’t realize how much she’s helping Trump, and hurting the queer and Palestinian people she so cares about. She should spend more time talking about actual policy she cares about instead of continually justifying what has already been said.

  4. I find it incredible that I’ve never heard a single person talk about her music.

  5. Lavender_rain_2000 on

    I’ve watched her tiktoks:

    1. All of this could have been done with a short statement, instead, she did like 3 interviews and several long confusing tiktoks, exhausting.

    2. It’s good that she is at least clarifying this. She seems to be confused about “endorsements”. The people who endorsed Harris didn’t say they support every past or future action. They just said who they are voting for and why.

    3. With everything she is saying she still seems to only criticize the “left”, zero words from her about dangerous anti trans and anti women policies from Trump or Republicans.

I guess we can put this topic to rest but I can’t see her now as some activist or much of an advocate for trans rights or women rights, she talks with much self-righteousness but not a lot backing it.

People on the internet (and on this site worse than Twitter) are so weird when it comes to politics. A lesbian woman who promotes drag artists and gives money and support to Palestine calls out the democrats for having problems and everyone tells her to shut up and that she’s a closet republican.

People expect her to show unwavering blind support for a candidate who is actively sending billions of dollars to fund a genocide and are baffled when she doesn’t. She’s still voting against Donald Trump, but because she dares question the Democratic Party the internet attacks her and questions her politics.

I’m at the point where I assume anyone who’s trying to drag her for her very reasonable statement and all of her clarifications (for the people who didn’t bother reading the words she actually said) is just a Zionist trying to push her down for supporting Palestine (so many of the people doing it on twitter were outed as Zionist). God forbid someone say that sending billions of dollars to pay for bombs used on civilians is a bad thing actually.

She’s a classic case of those who think they’re very clever and are making mature points most don’t “get” but in reality either just immature or just stupid.

  8. ampersands-guitars on

She says she wants to keep her private and professional life separate yet refuses to stop sitting down in front of the camera out of costume and makeup, seemingly in her own home, commenting on her personal thoughts and feelings and responding to “haters.” She can’t have it both ways and this should be obvious. She’s not 16. She should know her socials should be handled by a social media manager or *at the very least* she should keep her posts strictly about her music and performances. She wishes to only be known for her persona and only approached on the clock; this is a way to achieve that. It’s not rocket science.

It’s going to become a problem for her that other current rising pop stars handle themselves with grace while she’s becoming known for complaining a lot.

Guys feel for her trauma. She is a brand trying to extend her brand loyalty while trying not to limit her corporate synergy.

    It’s so haaaaaard.

  10. There’s just something…gross about trying desperately to be a gay icon but not having the balls to endorse the pro gay candidate.

  11. Acceptable-Drag2845 on

Did her PR team quit or smth? Like WTH is with her?!!! Her views are hers and yes she can express them but it’s not beneficial to keep going on and on and on about it. Enough already. Chappell keeps digging her own grave. It’d probably be a good idea for her to take a social media break.🥴

  12. Trump’s gonna have the Pink Pony club raided but at least Chappell gets to be Very Wise

  13. Comprehensive-Ad4815 on

She’s willing to let a non perfect candidate that clearly has her best interests in mind possibly lose. She happily lives in her rich girl bubble putting at risk communities that she supposably supports in danger because kamala isn’t saying exactly what she wants.

  14. Blackbiird666 on

So she is getting her face eaten by leopards in “secret”, got it.

  15. GloomyFondant526 on

Some people are not politically astute. And when that’s your cousin, all that happens is you are annoyed when they speak. Chappel Roan has created a large platform of fans and has demonstrated a poor understanding of how actual politics and endorsement works, so she should consider not speaking on these matters until she understands them with some depth and nuance.

  16. What’s the difference between endorsing someone and saying you’re voting for them?

  17. I don’t know who Chappell Roan is and at this point I’m afraid to ask why her endorsement means anything either positively or negatively.

  18. MrMcManstick on

I feel like saying she is voting for her is in a roundabout way endorsing her…girly pop this whole thing has been a MESS

  19. redjedi182 on

How do people not get her stance? The democratic party is a for profit entity that is responsible for the loss of human lives. They are our best option but they still fucking suck. Hating warmongering on the left is not an endorsement for the right. People need to break out of the duality thinking they’ve been cooked in.

  20. MalcolmTheManiac on

everything i’ve heard about this person has been against my will

  21. flimflammedzimzammed on

In other news I saw my cat take a dump standing on its rear legs, weird

  22. background_action92 on

Oh my heavens, let this story pass already. It feels like when you mess up and you try to explain your error over and over to lessen the mistake by confusion

  23. SenorHavinTrouble on

Is someone holding a gun to her head and forcing her to keep talking? For someone who claims to hate fame she does literally everything in her power to stay in the news.

  24. I can’t fucking get away from this girl today. I am so sick of Chappell Roan!!

  25. She just got a golden ticket on my anti playlist right next to Azelia Banks, Doja Cat and Chris Brown.

    This ain’t even about her.

  26. This whole thing has “teen trying to be edgy” vibes. And yes I know she’s in her twenties, the statement still stands.

  27. Elevator-Fun on

Thats a great idea for people that think Harris is not progressive enough for them, and don’t want the revolting MAGGOT party either

  28. YanniCanFly on

Is this the chick that wants to go back to doing drugs in public again without anyone knowing her?

  29. WomenOfWonder on

Funny how Taylor, who has to be one of the straightest pop stars in existence, apparently cares more about gay rights then a supposed ‘lesbian icon’

  30. morbidlonging on

I like her music but she comes off as kind of condescending and has an attitude of “I’m better than you look how above it all I am” which rubs me the wrong way. If you are for LGBTQ+ rights you KNOW one side is worse than the other come on. She needs to get off the internet.

  31. DreadfulDemimonde on

I mean this genuinely: in my experience, people who can’t stop trying to correct a narrative about themselves and just accept that some people will always misunderstand them are deeply insecure. And that’s what she’s giving.

  32. Spear_Ritual on

I really need to figure out how to keep from see posts about this person.

  33. hatetochoose on

“Oh no, my ideal candidate that doesn’t 100% align with my values isn’t running for President”.

    Grow up.

  34. onklewentcleek on

When everyone started obsessing about her I gave her 1 year before she flipped out of existence. I’m feeling pretty good. Gays need to stop idolizing every other person that throws them the tiniest bone.

  35. VapidRapidRabbit on

She genuinely seems like an idiot. Imagine being a lesbian and not endorsing the pro-LGBT rights *woman* that’s running for the presidency…

  36. horrormetal on

Every time I open this app, this girl is on my frontpage.

I’ve never heard a single song, and I’m already fatigued.

  37. zookeeper4312 on

I miss when it was nobody’s fucking business who u voted for

  38. SnagglepussJoke on

I’m an adult so I never heard of this person until these posts started populating my feed. I have said that a lot this year.

  39. The12th_secret_spice on

Love some CR but her whole rant about this just sounded naive and a bit childish.

Outside of a vague little quip about Palestine, she gave 0 context about what she doesn’t like about democrats or the Harris ticket. She talked about marginalized groups, ok, what policies are the dems pushing that you think marginalized those groups even more?

I would have loved to hear her say, “we don’t get an ideal candidate overnight. We must vote and work every election to ensure we elect people that work in our best interest”

Maybe I’m an old man now, but that’s how it came across to me.
